Mirror Reflects Someone Else

I had a dream and in it I was looking at my hair( : angel ) how fluffy and nice it was (which is strange as I am not into hair, ...then I was noticing that the image in the mirror, which was actually storefront glass, was not me. It was a man, younger than me and very different features. That is the extent of my dream. I am wondering if we have some dream experts to tell me how common is this among dreamers to see themselves in the dream as who they are or as someone else?

I don't know about in dreams, but I live that "dream" every day.

I see a super imposition of someone else in the mirror over my own face every time I look at one.

Although once, I remember much the same thing as you're describing. I saw a nearly black and white image, as the light was so dim, of me in a familiar shirt of mine, but as a girl, with a different hairstyle and features.

I think, looking back on it, it may have been a reminder from above that I chose the body I have now instead of the one I was seeing in the dream.

Actually, it now makes sense to me as I'm relating it to you!

But perhaps that's all it was, an old memory?

I once walked past a large mirror in a hallway and happened to glance at myself as I passed and my mind was deeply focused on something else. Only after I turned away from the mirror did my mind register what I had seen. I immediately stopped and focused on the mirror, but all I saw was my own shocked visage. What had stopped me in my tracks was the vision of a younger, taller man with a large ruffled stock, burgundy velvet coat and a tapering tophat...dressed somewhat like the dutch masters, an era and clothing that had never, up until that point, ever held my thought or imagination.

I got a sense of familiarity from the image, but at that time I had no concept of what I had seen. Even now, I am not familiar with any previous lifetime during that era, but it would not surprise me if one arises at some point.

My eldest daughter saw herself in the mirror, she said she looked like her sister with blonde ringlet curls and was dressed in the clothing of someone of the late 1880s.

I am afraid to stare into the mirror. Perhaps one day...

I was in the weight room today. There are mirrors all around the room, and I started staring into the mirror, and suddenly I felt like I was having an OBE ( out of body experience ). It was like my body was not my own, and my spirit was drifting up and away from this shell I know as my body. This has never happened to me before in front of a mirror, and then to be surrounded by mirrors. I think that mirrors can sharpen our perceptions of ourselves, and in the case of a dream, may reveal more about our past life.

In waking life I once saw myself as someone (I assume) I was in a past life while looking through a mirror. This person was, unlike myself, male, with sharper features and shoulder length brown hair, wearing a cream-colored natural fiber (you know I actually typed that last as "cream coloured natural fibre" -- strange, huh? Being that I'm American ...) shirt that laced in the front near the top. This was only for a split second. I've superimposed images like this over others I've known as well, on very rare occasions.

More a thought than an image, but I have a couple of shirts that I call "slop" shirts. They're kind of loose and baggy, even when tucked in. Very comfortable. First time I put one on and went into the bathroom I brushed my hair in the mirror and leaned on the counter in a relaxed and (hopefully) inviting way. My mind's eye (and my mind's mouth, apparently) saw an 18th century barkeep and said "This is kind of how you used dress when you ran that tavern back in..." and that's where the thought stopped. I never learned where. I had once entertained the thought of running a bar, but expenses and regulations talked me out of it!

Interesting topic...

In all my past life memories, I have gotten 'impressions' of what I looked like, but usually I see things through my eyes (so I get a good look at my hands, boots, etc) but I can't say I've actually ever looked straight at myself either in a mirror or from another perspective....Well, actually I did see my self once, but it was so split second brief I didn't get a good look.
