My 3 year old often talks about how she misses her sister

Sada

New Member
Recently, my 3 year old has spoken about her other family.

She started speaking about them a few months ago, and told me about her sister, and other mother. At first, I just thought that she was being funny, as she has a highly developed vocabulary, and distinct sense of humour for such a young child. More recently, she has been adding more detail to what she says, and has repeated the same names again and again. She often talks about her sister Sada and mother Ada. These are not names that are usual to our family, or people that we know.

Also, recently she told me that she lived in England, with Sada and Ada. We have never been there, and have no reference to England. When she pronounces the word England, she does so in a very distinct British accent, which was amusing at first, but now makes me wonder why she does this.

When she talks about her sister she says that she misses her, and that she is not sleeping in her bed, in her house. She told me that there was a man looking in the window at Sada. Also, she has said that she doesn't want to go back to the white house. When I asked her about the White House, she said that was where she lived before. I asked her what her daddy's name was, and she told me that she didn't have a daddy before. In this life, my daughter lives with me, her mother, and her natural father, in a very loving family situation.

At times, I have asked her if she is talking about her mummy before me, and she has said yes. Now, when she mentions Sada, and I question her, she stops the dialogue and says "No, you are my mummy now. You are my only mummy. Sssssh! Don't say that. The aliens will hear you and wake up!"

Tonight, as I was putting her to bed, she talked about Sada again, and said "That little girl - She's not in her bed, she's not in her house". I said "Who?" She said "Sada". I asked "Where is Sada?"

Then she suddenly changed her tone, and sounded upset and shushed me "You are my mummy, and I dont have another mummy" .

And then she said "You were in Stralia (Australia ), daddy was in Stralia (Australia) and I was born in Australia. I'm so happy that I chose you mummy, and when I was a baby, you were sick." I asked her what she meant. She said "When I was a baby, you were sick, and then daddy held me, in his arms". She asked me why I didn't hold her?

She also told me that she wasn't growing in my tummy at that time. I was so surprised to hear this from her, as at 36 weeks pregnant I had very high blood pressure, and my doctor decided that I should have an emergency c-section because my baby was not thriving in the womb.

I tell her that I believe everything that she tells me, and that I always will, and that I always believe in her.

She often talks about aliens and ghosts, as well as her pretend friends that have no names. She often says that there are lots of ghosts around, and her pretend friends that are very naughty, are hiding behind my back. I ask her if she can see them, and she says yes.

I would like to know how to give her closure, on her past life situation with her sister. What should I say?

That's a remarkable story. I was struck by the way your daughter described your blood pressure episode before her birth. There's a theory that a soul doesn't "attach" to the body completely when in the womb. Descriptions vary, but some people believe that the soul can observe events from outside the womb, and becomes more attached to the body shortly before birth. Your daughter sounds like a remarkable little girl, and your love for her is very obvious. You might want to read Carol Bowman's books about children and reincarnation. The next time she mentions Sada, ask her to talk about it. Tell her that it is safe to tell you anything, and how much you love her. I'm sure others on the forum will have wiser counsel for you, but that is a place to start. Welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the forum. When you read the messages in the children's memories section here you will see that your daughter is not alone in this. You should get a journal and start writing everything down. Remembering past lives and having the ability to see ghosts and spirits seems to go hand in hand. Some of the adults here have that ability as well. Based on scientific surveys researchers think about 2% of the general population have had direct contact with "aliens" or E.T.'s. Last year someone I know told about a strange experience they had and wanted to know if there was an explanation for it. It was a classic "missing time" description along with physical symptoms. So who knows. You can ask your daughter open ended questions when she mentions anything past life. Bedtime and riding in a car are usually good times when the memories are close to the surface. Many children lose the memories by age 7 or so.

One thing that is very important is for you to reassure her that she is safe with you and that no one is going to come and take her away. It seems whatever happened to her then is haunting her now ...

More about my daughter's past life experiences

Thank you to the people who have commented on my post. I appreciate your comments.

What you have said reassures me that what I am experiencing is not just a figment of my imagination.

It is true that I adore my child, and I only wish the best for her. I reassure her that she is safe with me, and that I will do my best to love her and take care of her on a daily basis. She tells me that she loves me too, which of course, is the greatest reward a parent can achieve.

Tonight, as I was putting my child to bed, she took my face in her hands, and said "You are the baby, and I am the mummy. I was your mummy when you were a baby, now you are big and I am small but I was your mummy before, and J (she used her father's name) was your daddy. Now, I'm small and you are big. How did that happen?" I told her that we were meant to be together, and that is why we are together again.

This is not the first time that she has told me that she is my mummy. She started telling me "I am the mummy, you are the baby" when she was about 2 1/2 years old. I thought it was a cute game, and it has continued since then, but tonight was the first time that she added more detail, and then asked questions.

I am a qualified teacher, and know how children like to make up stories, yet I am stumped and mystified by my own child's a ability to tell such things.

Also, I know that it sounds strange, but I have always believed that I have known my partner from a previous life. He looks and acts exactly like my pet dog that I had when I was a child. Coincidentally, my partner was born the same year that my treasured pet died. I know that this sounds kooky, but he demonstrates so many similar characteristics as my pet.

The ideas that I have expressed here are things that I feel that I know, yet I don't often discuss them when others as they appear too far-fetched and honestly, kooky. So I usually keep these thoughts to myself. However, since I found this forum, I feel that I can share, and not worry about judgment.

Thanks for being here!

You should read Carol Bowman's book "Return From Heaven". It talks about cases of reincarnation within families. It seems to be much more common then anyone thought. Do you think your daughter could be your grandmother? It sounds like your partner has been with both of you before also. Hindus believe that animals can reincarnate as humans, but most other people believe that humans always come back as humans and animals come back as animals. Subconsciously you already know who your daughter and partner were before. Have you ever tried doing a past life regression using a CD, DVD, or even just meditation? There are also regression videos on YouTube.

The forum doesn't deal with the issue of transmigration of souls between animals and humans. I think it is very likely that you knew your partner before, but can't speculate about what species he was. There's a film you might be interested in, called "Dean Spanley". It's fictional, but deals with both reincarnation and the transmigration of souls. It's a charming movie, and worth watching. It seems more likely that your partner and daughter were your parents in a past life. Your little one just remembers it.
