My son's dream thread. Dying as a soccer player, etc.

My son has always had dramatically violent dreams, though not enough so to really disturb his sleep. He seems to relish telling them, so I always thought it was too much history channel, before I understood past lives. One of his recurring dreams is a little bizarre, though. I've been surprised at how distinctive it is several times, now.

As he tells it, he is a young soccer player. He says that armed men (police) come onto the field during the game, and he's not sure if he is shot or if the ball hits him in the head and kills him. He's certain he is in South America, though.

Now, I don't talk about reincarnation with them because I don't want to set them up for conflict with my parents, but I've always wondered why he would dream of a sport turning violent like that.

He's always dreaming about bombs and explosions of various sorts, so that isn't too unusual. He once dreamed of an exploding soccer ball, too. He also spoke of being "left behind" in Bolivia. He specifically said that my mother and I left him there when he was "really small," and that he was alone in a house with a kitchen and someone put a bomb in the kitchen and it exploded. The difference is in how specific he is about the details.

Makes me wonder, since I lived in Bolivia growing up and took him there for a year when he was two years old, whether that is enough for him to dream about the country 12 years later.

Well, it turns out there are numerous instances of soccer players dying on the field - heart attacks, head injuries, tetanus, even struck by lighting but no shootings. It could have been a head injury perhaps? Maybe he saw police on the field, but they were running towards him to help or something and he is mixing it up?

List of association footballers who died while playing

Maybe somehow he was involved in the Bolivian revolution but the trip there as a baby reminded him or again, he's got it a bit mixed up in his mind? Hard to say for sure I guess unless he tells you more.

Personally if I remember right, the 1972 Olympics occurred in Munich, Germany. I don't think the soccer games was affetced. It was some Palestinians who went after some Israeli athletes. I was born in the 50s so still remember this happening. But thru the years there has been many a coup or revolution in South America thru the years.

The Munich massacre was an attack during the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, West Germany, on 11 members of the Israeli Olympic team, who were taken hostage and eventually killed, along with a German police officer, by the Palestinian group, Black September.

The Israeli's were: track and field, wrestling, weightlifting, fencing and sharpshooting. No soccer players.

He was born in December 2000, Owl.

He dreams about bombs frequently, often going off in a house. He calls it a nuclear bomb. I think that might be a different life than the soccer player, since I get the feeling he might have been under 5 in that dream. I think the bomb got mixed up with the soccer ball in a few of the dreams, but I don't get the impression that it was the same event. (Although a historic exploding soccer ball story would change my mind in a heartbeat.)

In the soccer dreams he says he was a really good player, but he wasn't playing in a stadium when the police came. He called it a "kids' soccer field" and laughed at me when I tried to ask him about it, so I had to give up on that line of questioning. Something hit him in the head, and because of the situation he's not sure if it was a bullet or a ball. He goes back and forth and finally says, "I don't know, because it hits me and I wake up."

Given the idea that they're under some sort of attack, I'd be surprised if it was the ball, though. I'm not sure how old he is in the dream. Old enough to be somewhat famous at least locally, I think, but maybe not pro level? *shrug*

The one time we tried to put him in a soccer camp, he got very frustrated because he wasn't as good as he imagined himself to be. It was like he expected to be excellent without ever playing before in his life. That was when he was 6-8, and it's a typical little boy attitude so it's probably not relevant.

coffee I'm pretty sure he's had several warrior past lives, especially Roman or Greek. He's more up on the armor than some historians and has been known to correct the history channel and children's history books for their inaccuracies. He's always trying to quiz me on what armor is which era, and what sword goes with which helmet. (I love him, but I just don't care that much about armor. *laugh* "You just tell me, hon. I really don't know.")

I usually help with the kid's memories but this one is out of my area of knowledge. Good luck to you, I will be reading this thread to watch for developments. :)

Yeah, Mama2HRB, I know very little about soccer either. I did dig up the dead soccer players thread and the ones where olympians died, but it seems to me that's a little too grand of a scale for my son's dreams.

Sounds like an event only an avid fan might remember mentioned on South American news.

Interesting, is there a reincarnation site that deals with Anxiety and PSTD?

Anyways this doesn't surprise me at all, I'm ashamed to say that us Americans have killed innocent Latin Americans and Martyred some saints also. Oscar Romero is a wonderful example.

I've discovered that a soccer game did help start a war.

" The 'Football War' was fought by Central American countries El Salvador and Honduras in 1969. In fact, it also went by the name of the '100 Hours' War', and in reality there were a host of issues at the root of the troubles. Migration, trade and simmering land disputes on the border all conspired to spark social unrest between the two, but it wasn't until the best-of-three World Cup qualifiers in 1969 that the tipping point was reached."

Wow. That's pretty crazy, Chryscat.

Looks like the druglords have had their fingers in managing football teams for quite some time, also. I'm beginning to think of soccer in a whole new light. *laugh*

Start keeping a journal of what he tells you. Since he is now a teen you might try having him listen to a meditation or past life regression audio. I don't think you would have to tell him it's for past lives. It will work whether they believe in past lives or not. Or you can call it "creative visualization" or something similar.

I was typing up one of my dreams this morning and when my son read it he said, "My dreams are never that long, and I always die at the end, only it's not like they say. When I die I don't wake up, I just hover over my dead body in the dream."

So I took the opportunity to ask him a bit more about it.

This time he seemed a little clearer. I think he has this dream repeatedly from what I can tell.

He says he was playing football "the real football" on a field in Bolivia, surrounded by "old buildings". (That could include anything from mud huts to a small stadium, because they tend to allow buildings to fall into disrepair, IMO.) The ball hits him in the head and he falls, then someone in military fatigues comes up with a gun and shoots him in the chest. He pops out of his body and looks down at himself.

When I asked him if he remembers what sort of fatigues or what kind of buildings, he says he hardly remembers anything about the dream, except what he has told me.

I told him that's pretty cool because at least he is still alive. He looked at me funny when I said that, and I told him it's like he's changing clothes ... only it's his whole body. He's still there even if the body isn't alive anymore.

In other dreams, he throws himself on top of a grenade to save the people around him. There is another dream of a bomb exploding. And one where he falls off a building trying to prevent someone else from falling. Seems he's got at least one military life.

He could be having dreams about more than one past life. The soccer game could be the 1969 game that was referred to earlier. The grenade could be WWII, Korea, or Viet Nam. Falling off a building may not be military. Suicide, earthquake, etc.?? He doesn't realize yet how lucky he is to have a parent that supports him and doesn't think he's crazy, or just "imagining". :)

Does he know what an "OBE" Out of Body experience is? Maybe a good time to explain it to him since he remembers that part.

If it's like a children's field, he could have been playing for fun (not professionally) or in a minor club. Do you have a description of the men with guns? They could have been criminals or policemen, for example.

He wasn't able to be clearer aside from saying the man wore fatigues.

I think it probably wasn't a professional/international game, but do people get that angry about a casual game within a community?

Nearly every town has a soccer field in Bolivia, and many are near buildings like the schools and such. They often build cement steps into the hillsides for the people watching in the larger towns, and once you get to the size of small cities you find small stadiums of various sorts, right up to the full-size fields made for large crowds and international games.

There had to be something larger going on (politically or personally) for someone to get shot on the field, mid-game.

The police in Bolivia tend to carry large weapons, so it would make sense if it were either police or military. Also, I'm sure there are all sorts of militant groups who have various uniforms. It's not the most stable of countries, politically.

I just did a google search and found several stories from around the world of players being shot. So it does happen. Tempers flare, alchohol, drugs, etc. play a part. Politics, also I would think. Let us know if he comes up with more details like names, etc.

I don't know about Bolivia in particular but maybe what happened was not related to the game itself, especially if it wasn't a big professional one. Corrupt police, gangs, armed political groups all could target a community by killing people who are gathered in a public space, there's been many news of that sort of thing happening around the world. Maybe it was an incident of that kind.

It would be helpful if you could find out more details, like why the men who shot at the team were there. Things that would be especially useful would be about the team: what their uniforms looked like (if there were any), the average age of the players, maybe even names. That sort of information can help you narrow it down to specific teams and even locations.

For those of you who are new here, there is a mother on the forum with a toddler who has been talking about being tortured and killed in a South American country. We think it could have been either Chile or Argentina back in the 70s.

Hi MereDreamer

When you say your son has always had these dreams at what age did they start?. I have grandchildren who play those violent video games. They and their friend started when they were only 5-6 years old. They must be a real problem for some children which would also include nightmares.

If it is not that that then ask him straight out why would anyone want to kill you? If you think it's appropriate ask him were you the good guy the innocent party in your death. My experience tells me he may well know and is not saying anything to you about who he was, other than a soccer player. As you know we were not all innocent in our previous lives. I'm certainly not saying he was a bad person last time, just ask him to be honest with you. That is if you think it's appropriate

You appear to be very good person and I would I imagine be a very good mother. You will sort it out

Regards

Sorry, John. I somehow missed your response here. I've talked to him about his dreams a lot, and he really only remembers the fact that he was playing a game and someone military just walked up and shot him. He doesn't remember anything else about who he was in the dream.

While I "seriously" joke with them about past lives to help them start thinking in that direction, I try not to do more "leading" than simply helping them think through how the dream might reflect their current life and thoughts in some way. I try to just ask questions that will help them think it through.

Speaking of which, I pulled up this thread to deposit another of his dreams for my own tracking, mostly.

-----------------------------------------

This time he said he was in a public school of some sort, during class. He was around 18, and suddenly men in some sort of full body armor came in, shooting. He described something like this:

ay_114114681.jpg

Men all in black, with black helmets, guns, and armor all over, especially chest plates. The visors were "white".

He said he had a gun, too. (I asked him twice about that.) He said that everyone was under their desks as protection because of the attack, and he had a gun for defense.

He got shot near his heart and "bled out". Then he "became someone else" watching himself bleed to death and ran out of the building with everyone before he woke up.

He said everyone was dressed "normal" ... as in, the styles weren't distinctly different from today.

---------------------------

(They really enjoy Dr. Who, so we talk about him having a lot of past lives as well. It gives them a nice mythology comfort zone where we're not really, really serious ... even though we're talking about Pl dreams as a real thing.)

His comment in response to my past life reference was, "Well, if I'm dreaming about past lives I sure did die violently a lot."

To which I said, "Well, I'd imagine that's pretty common since people have to die somehow."

He has never been to public school in this life. His favorite game is Minecraft.

Though his dad does play fighting games in front of him, they tend to be strategy games, where you're managing a whole army and expanding a country, or the fantasy-oriented multiplayer types like WOW or Assassin's Creed. His dad doesn't have much patience with first person shooter games because he tends to be bad at aiming.

He's talking about going into the military when he graduates "so they'll pay for college" ... Which is totally his father's family talking through him ... although he has always been interested in tactics and weapons, but not so much in fighting.

I told him the military will brainwash him until he'll do whatever they tell him without thinking through the morality of it, which he's heard before.

Then I told him that he can do whatever he wants, but if he chooses to join the military then I'll just have to un-brainwash him when he visits. He shrugged and said he doesn't intend to go into a branch where he'd have to fight, but more of a support area. I wonder how that will play out....

It's hard to say. He was born at the end of 2000.

Thirty to forty years ago gun clubs were quite ordinary in schools in the US, even.

Europe seems to have had shooting clubs for teens, too.

There are also military schools, though I'm not sure they'd casually bring guns into the classrooms.

In war zone cultures, I can see teens carrying guns to school as well.

I tried researching attacks on schools, but didn't find anything right off that fit his description. Most of the records are of individuals going off.

It's usually an act of war or terrorism once uniforms and body armor enter the picture, and those scenarios aren't always as well reported when it comes to details of who was shot by whom, where.

It may just be an experience-compilation dream.

The parts that stood out to me as indicative of a PL are the classroom school setting, the specifics about the armor, and the fact that he called it an "ordinary life" type of dream in comparison to when I talked about a flying dream I had last night.
