Hi all, after being a long-time lurker (must be about 6 years now), I've finally made the plunge to actually join and start posting.

A little about this life: mid-twenties, English, female. Background in science, trying to make it in the heritage/museum sector.

As for past lives: no definate memories as such, just hunches, flashes and a few odd dreams. maybe discussing things on here, rather than thinking them to myself, will help me to remember more :)

I would also like to say a big thank you for this forum. reading it has helped me through some rough, existential crises I had a few years back. thank you all!

Welcome to the forum.

Even if you don't have memories, I encourage everyone to read a few of the books recommended by Carol and Staff members. Especially read Carol's books Return from Heaven and Children's Past Lives. Even if you don't have kids...they are two of the best books about reincarnation I have ever come across.

It's a fascinating subject and no two stories/experiences are the same. There are common threads that run through them but the strongest cases can give you "goosies" as Jennifer Lopez says on American Idol. ;)

thank you Deborah :) i haven't read carol's books yet, but i hope to someday. recently finished 'Old Souls' by Tom Schroder, and ages ago I read 'Life Before Life' by Jim Tucker. I can't help but feel that what children say is the best evidence yet for something 'other' than the material world; some of the stories in this forum have really opened my eyes!

Greetings to one and all

Hello folks

A wee hijack of Helz Belz thread, with apologies, in case of a faux pas, to introduce myself.

I am in my mid-fifties with deep interest in spirituality from a scientific point of view. Professionally, I am an IT consultant and was running a small systems design consultancy, but the past few years have been devoted to my parents who live in India and dealing with my own health issues. I have travelled a a fair bit, mostly in Latin America and have finally hung up my roller blades in England.:cool

I have been regressed several times, out of my own curiosity and though still a tad skeptical about the experiences, I cannot explain the vivid details and the lucidity of them. The passing of my mum and a very good friend last year has prompted me to expand my understanding of "life between lives" and related aspects of the Soul Eternal.

Anyway, before this babbling morphs into babbling AND rambling, allow me to second Helz Belz gratitude to have a forum such as this!

Peace :)

Welcome to the forum Peacelad

My condolences on the passing of your Mum and your friend. I hope that by reading some of the experiences shared by others in this forum, you will take some comfort in the knowledge that death is certainly not the end for any of us.

I also hope that you will share your own experiences, but like Deborah said, only if you want to, there's no obligation.

Chris :)

hello there

I've been interested in past lives for a while. My mom believes she died in a car accident in her past life, my dad thinks he was a monk, and I'm trying to figure out what/who I was in a past life.

So, I'm glad I found this place. Hope it helps me figure out a few things.

Hello and welcome! Free feel to look around and jump right in asking questions! That's the best way to learn and there's also plenty of threads around with engaging discussions that are great too!

Welcome !

It is great that you can talk freely with your parents about reincarnation. How did they find out about their past lives, did they tell you that? A regression, dreams, spontaneous memories....?

I am looking forward to your contributions on this forum, and we will be glad to help you with your questions !

thanks for the nice welcomes!

Mom gets little flashbacks every once in a while and she used to talk in her sleep when she was a kid about a car accident she was never in.

My dad has dreams and sometimes he'll do something seemingly random but fitting to his past life theory.

It is nice that we all share the same belief, my moms side of the family all believe in reincarnation so it's really cool. And that's why figuring out who I was is so important to me.

Thanks again!

Thanks for the welcome! :)

I shall be certainly posting my own experiences once I get my bearings around this wonderful forum. And, of course, there are thousands of questions rattling around in my brain but all in good time. ;)

Peace

I can relate to your mother's flashbacks about the car accident s0ulfool. I think there is a high likelihood that my previous life ended in a car accident and in particular when car I was a passenger in plunged of a cliff. I used to have frightening dreams as a kid and as a teenager of being a passenger in a car that was travelling up a mountain road with a steep cliff on one side. Whenever we travelled on a mountainous road, I was terrified and would bury my head under a pillow on the seat until we were on level ground again. I was always a nervous passenger. All my fears and dreams disappeared at the point I had my drivers license, my own car and was able to be in control of the vehicle I was travelling in most of the time.

I am mostly no longer nervous as a passenger but roads with a drop on one side still give me the heebie jeebies and photographs of and from high places send an instant weakening shock through my whole body.

I have no desire to validate this aspect of a past life via regression.

New to forum, and not so new

Hello, I'm Sharry

I'm so glad to have found such a forum. I have loads of memories, some are detailed, some are small fragments, some are more abstract dreams of memories or what I can only describe as speed traveling in my sleep. I dream things and then I research them to find out where, when, and what they are.

I will share some of my memories here.

Recently my daughter shared one of her memories (She is 5) I guess it must have been her most recent previous life.

Hello

Hello,

A friend of mine who will remain nameless has passed on the link to this site and i figured i might as well attempt to see what it is all about.

I have read all the posting policy rules and jazz though i am confused slightly on the idea that posting anything pertaining to magic spells or potions could be classified as fantasy fiction if it does indeed hold barring on your reincarnation, or that of a childs reincarnation (or further yet, a how-one-found, their past lives)

Just hoping to clear this up so as i don't go breaking all the rules before i got started. Also, Wanted to say hi to everyone and introduce myself in the same breath.

Nick-names Ayametaylor, but you can call me aya for short. A pleasure to meet you all, i am sure!

Welcome to the site, Aya. As far as I know, the whole "magic spells and potions" ban is to keep people from posting advice that may wind up hurting someone. While there is some basis in herbal medicine, "potions" are the domain of fairy tales. Meditative techniques do not qualify as "magic spells", even if it involves chanting, certain movements, etc. I think the key to the thing is to be able to say "this is how I do it" without saying "this is what you should do". (I could be off the mark, but no worries. Folks here are cool and won't skewer you for the first offense.) If witchcraft and such has a bearing on your reincarnation, in my opinion it's part of your makeup. I walked the path of the witch myself awhile back while trying to find my own way, and much of what I learned then still serves me today. Just don't ask me about "spells and potions".

If you learned something through unconventional or unorthodox means, as long as it's not illegal ("I totally smoked this weird stuff last week, and after I got done talking with Elvis and Jimi, I went cruising with Janis..."), and if you're uncomfortable with talking about it, focus instead on what you learned.

I hope we see more of you around here!

I think if you child has memories of a past life where they were doing spells and making potions that may be okay to talk about but not go into details about the spells and potions whereas if you had reincarnation memories while under the influence of a spell that would not be acceptable.

I could be wrong, however. I am sure someone with better knowledge will be here soon.

I look forward to reading of your experiences and reincarnation memories, and welcome to the site!

Hello AyameTaylor, welcome to the forum :)

As long as you use common sense when you post, you should be fine. Obviously, if you join the forum with memories of "turning the handsome prince into a frog", then you can expect the post to be removed. You may laugh, but we do occasionally get such posts or similar. Although it rarely happens, it does force us to impose these rules.

There are one or two threads on the topic of witchcraft here. I think we all know that the perception of the old hag in a pointed hat, flying around on a broomstick is born out of fantasy, but witches did, and do actually exist as we know, and it usually turns out that acts of "magic" and "sorcery" were simple things that we would take for granted in today's society. I can't think of any good examples, but something simple like the act of talking to another person on a cellphone today, would have been considered witchcraft a few hundred years ago, I'm sure you know what I mean.

I hope you get the general idea now, and with that in mind, we look forward to your participation. Hope you enjoy your time here.

Chris :)

Welcome to the forum AyameTaylor.

Chris pretty much explained it the same way I would have. Magic spells were indeed part of people's belief systems and still are, witch is interesting. Potions were basically forms of experimental medicine. Of course, they could be good and bad. They were either designed to heal or kill.

I think we all know that the perception of the old hag in a pointed hat, flying around on a broomstick is born out of fantasy
If you join the forum with memories of "turning the handsome prince into a frog"
As Chris said, this is obviously what we don't want. If people come on this site to research the possibility of reincarnation, posts like these may make them look for another forum. And, to be honest, I tend to stop reading posts myself when there are pink ponies with wings flying about. :D

There is a lot of discussion about witchcraft and potions that can be interesting. They both have a lot of history to them that I do find deeply interesting. As with any subjects, there is always a line between fantasy and reality.

Kris;)

turning a handsome prince into a frog
Ahhh .. but I have discovered the one I thought to be a handsome prince was actually a frog. Would that be allowable? LOL ...

Just kidding.

Hello

Hi everybody. I am new (today) to the forum. 4/21/12. I just wanted to introduce myself and say I look forward to reading your thoughts on the subjects and learning new things!

Welcome to the forum AliceRedHawk. Please don't hesitate to jump in wherever and whenever you find something of interest or have something to contribute. I noted in another thread you have pl memories of being a Lakota warrior...I look forward to reading the specifics of your memories when you feel like contributing it. Again, welcome aboard.

Welcome to the past life forum AyameTaylor!

Others have hopefully already answered your question about the forum guidelines here; I just wanted to add that if your references to witchcraft/magic/superstitions are about a past life (such as a time during the Salem witch trials for example), that is about reincarnation and totally acceptable.

Don't get worried over the 'posting policy rules' - common sense is all one needs, they are just there to help remind people to stay on-topic about past lives.

I am glad you have joined us, feel welcome here! #G^H

Hahaa

Hi and welcome to Aya!

Just like to say a quick Hello to everyone.

Rather than starting a new thread, I thought I would add to this one.

Fascinating threads and posts. Thanks to Carol for starting this.

Kristopher and I have met on another forum.

I have been lurking for a while and have been enjoying the information, so I thought I would register.

Looking forward to further posts.

Welcome to the forum micjer. Please don't feel the need to lurk...there is a wonderful level of acceptance and understanding for shared experiences on this forum...and as you have obviously discussed these matters with Kris, you already have an understanding of what we do around here! Again, welcome.

Welcome Micjer to the Past Life Forum and to a friendly gathering of like minded people who may very well share the same beliefs that you might have!

Often other forums have a hostile or confrontational flavor about them, but the Past Life Forum does not at all, just a friendly, comfortable feel about it and the people who populate it!

Please feel free to ask any questions or to add any valuable input, stories or incidents that you might have :)

Thanks so much for the warm welcome.

There is so much disinfo and misinformation on the web. It is nice to find, what I would consider a truth forum.

For example.... There are no truer words than those out of the mouths of babes. They have no reason to lie!

Hello!

My name is Brige. I am an hypnotherapist in Los-Angeles. I'd like to talk with other hypnotherapists about past live regression in order to get some more insights with practice.

Welcome Brige,
Tell us more about your interest in Past Lives and helping people. Curious minds want to know. :)
Hi Deborah,

I am not used to this forum. I just graduated as an hypnotherapist. I know about past lives because I can see them, mostly for others. I went to see a few of mine too.

Welcome aboard Brige! Yes, if you would like to share do tell us more about your work & experiences!
Hi Lady2,

I am still doing research. My main experience is an amnesia for about 2 months, and then exterior for about 2 years. I believe that I was helped to come back over here, w/ a psychic ability...

I have a 9yo girl who has animals phobia. I can see that she got it on a past life when she was not ready to separate w/her mother (or her daughter). She doesn't seem to want to go there. She's in a lot of fear. I am considering explaining her that there is no danger in going there, but I don't want to push her neither. I'd like to have some insight from someone...
