Welcome Rebecca! :)

I have suspicions that I was a Jewish Holocaust victim too. But sometimes I think I may have been on the other side and feel the way I do out of guilt. My emotions are mixed.

I hope you share more of your experiences with us!

Broken timemachine, how to get back?

Hello Everyone,

I have been here on the forum several years ago, but stopped posting for a while due some circumstances. Forgot my nickname and password though , been too long ago ;)

I'm usually not the kind who is into Forums, as i change my mind often, and don't like fixed statements. hehe

But i always felt drawn to this forum in a special way, and so i'm back! :D

My name is Elisa (real name) and i'm from Belgium.

I kind of put the idea behind me, of finding out about my past lives since i think its important living in the 'now' . So finding out was still on my list, but something for the future.

However, i'm so fascinated by it, and there are some things in my current live that constantly drag me to other time periods and admosphers ...Whenever i pass a statue, or building i can almost ''smell' that lifetime...and it gives me a very wonderful feeling. It feels like there is something hidden deep down inside of me, that i need to find out about,... and i feel like i come from a time machine, and omg! i'm in the future now!

I'm also a huge fan of old historical clothing, castles, and more ...

I do have a strange connection with Mozart, it runs in my family, at my dad's side...but maybe it has to do with that time period i like?

There are some little memories , pictures in my mind i have had in dreams and visions, but i'm still not 100% sure what it all ment, and want to find out...

So glad i found my way back to the forum, and i can't wait to read all the lovely threads posted here...

Thanks for sharing it with us all!

Elisa

Welcome back Elisa :)

Thanks for sharing, and I hope you can find out more about your past lives. Let us know how you get on, or if there's anything we can do to help.

Chris :)

Hi ElisaD,

You are not alone, there have been quite a few who were members from years ago, left and returned. It's a safe place - and welcome back! :D :D:D

Welcome Rebecca, I look forward to hearing more about your journey of discovery and what it means to you in this life.

A greeting - and questions

Hi all,

I'm posting from England with a spinning head and many prior beliefs turned upside down.

I lost my dear dog a little over a month ago and would like the forum's input into some recent events.

My ramblings do, eventually, lead to questions of reincarnation.

It might be best if I time-line them.

A few months ago, I had a series of dreams, which borderline freaked me out. They were prior to my dog becoming sick.

In the first dream, I died. I don't remember what killed me but I do remember I died. I woke up instantly at the point of death.

In the second dream, I watched the universe's creator, together with a band of helpers, make preparations for the latest soon-to-be arrivals to the next life. The imagery was graphic but the events quite muddled.

In the third dream, I dreamed about my dog, or rather my dog's "mind". Within the dream, our minds "crashed" into one another's, with mine landing in my dog's body, and his landing in my body. I woke from the dream quite perplexed and remembering asking, in my conscious state, "what happened there; what does that mean?"

Shortly after these dreams, my dog got sick. He went to several vets. None could find a single thing wrong with him.

As time went on, he began to have fits - infrequent and minor at first, before progressing to several each evening, of a truly powerful and horrendous nature.

An inoperable brain tumour was eventually diagnosed.

By this time, we knew it was time for him to go. His legs weren't working properly, he was clearly in pain, didn't know where he was, and was exhibiting very odd, and sometimes, dangerous behaviour.

He was, with the most bitter of regrets, and many tears, put to sleep.

I am writing matter-of-factly to deliberately keep emotion out of this as I need to explore some possibilities and hope that the nature of this post is inline with the forum's essence.

Before I continue with my specific line, I'll add some background on myself.

I don't have any personal recollection of past lives.

I do, however, have mental imagery of being "born" - of travelling down a tunnel and into this world - seamlessly, painlessly and fairly instantly.

I also have mental imagery of being shot, while wearing a parachute. I was shot in the back, among other places. I also have a large birthmark in this life where I was "shot".

I have a fear of heights - an almost sickening fear, where I feel as though I am being pulled downwards. I cannot climb a ladder.

For many years, I believed my mental images were the stuff of nothing but past dreams. Now, I am not so sure.

Back to modern times....

A little over a week after my dog was put to sleep, I collected his ashes. They were in a dog-shaped urn which, in turn, was in a large cardboard box.

Very upset, I collected the box. I picked it up and immediately felt this "glow" run up my arm and into my body.

It latest only a second or two but was quite tangible. I said: "Welcome home boy" under my breath as I left the surgery, tears welling in my eyes.

I placed the urn, together with his lead, on a bookshelf in my lounge. And cried.

Fast forward to Saturday just gone.

I moved his urn, to make it face out more into the room, told him I missed him, and cried some more.

A few minutes later, I left the house and went out into the back garden.

When I came back into the house, there was a very strong smell of ginger.

Now, my dog's absolute favourite treat was a ginger biscuit. For some dogs, it's cheese. For my little dog, it was a crushed up ginger biscuit. He'd get a biscuit every once in a while crushed into his food.

My house, on Saturday just past, was filled with the scent of ginger. Except, there was no reason for it - no ginger in the house. Nothing that could be remotely construed as smelling of ginger.

The smell lasted about 30 seconds and was suddenly gone.

Fast forward to Sunday night. I woke up about 4am, tears rolling down my face. As I lay there, semi-awake, the number 32 came into my head. As I tried to think about "32", I realised I couldn't. It was as though there was a deep subconscious fact or event allied to the number and I wasn't permitted access to it.

Now, I've had hypnotherapy in the past to give up smoking.

I remember on waking from hypnotherapy, my hypnotherapist asking me if I remembered the "message" he'd asked my subconscious to keep safe. Try as I might, I couldn't access the thought, despite knowing it was there.

Well, this "32" played out in the same way - I wasn't allowed to "access" what it meant. Some time later (it might have been seconds or hours), "32" came to me again. Again, access to what it meant, or what it was a "trigger" for, was denied.

I woke up immediately and wrote "32" down, as I felt it had significance.

Now, I guess I'm asking the following:

What do you make of the ginger smell?

Is "32" some clue to my dog's next incarnation?

Why can't I mentally access what it means?

What is the link, if any, between my three dreams and my dog's subsequent illness?

What did the clashing of minds dream mean?

Why did I feel a "warmth" in my arm when I collected my dog's ashes?

And, while I'm asking so many questions, what do you make of my personal imagery about being born and being shot - are they likely part of a dream sequence or is there likely more to it?

There are a couple of more profound things to post about, which I believe are heavily linked, but will keep them "back" for now, pending your thoughts on the above.

Apologies if this post is not in the usual spirit of initial introductions, but I find myself with an open mind and need somewhere to direct my questions to.

Hi Math, and welcome to the Forum! There is a lot here to answer, and few—if any of us—will be able to give you any definitive answers to all of these questions. However, I can say that much of what you mention are experiences that are fairly well documented for many people. The bond with your dog is very powerful, so I am not surprised about what you experienced. I think the most poignant question you asked is, "Why can't I mentally access what it means?", because all of us have asked that very same question without benefit of any clear answers. Suffice to say, if all things were easily explained, I don't think there would be any good reason to be alive in the physical world. Without life's mysteries, there would be no purpose in living.

If I were to hazard to answer your questions, I would do so only from my own narrow window of experience:

The ginger smell could be your dog's spirit visiting.

Your dog might come back to this world when you're 32.

Your dog's illness may have caused the "clashing" dream.

The warmth in your arm was a physical effect of your dog's love.

And, finally, you may have died during a previous life jumping into Europe during WWII.

Whatever the answer may be, it is important to remember that what is past is past; and that we have all probably lived thousands of lifetimes into which we carry the essence of all our experiences. The mystery is worth pursuing, but we should anticipate that with every possible answer, we encounter numerous additional questions.

Thanks for your thoughts, and welcome, Nightrain.

There is a little more to this which I will possibly reveal in due course - I need to be comfortable with it first as it's somewhat bizarre and far removed from my comfort zone which, professionally, has hitherto revolved around absolute rigour and proof - as my screen name might imply.

Apologies also for my British English.

Saying hello, and wondering about something.

Well, my name is Ash. I am currently 17 years old and living in the USA. My girlfriend and I are both very fluid in terms of gender, sexuality, and the spirit. We were discussing things like otherkin and reincarnation the other day while at a park. About a half hour later, my girlfriend climbed onto a tree and looked down at me in a certain way that we believe triggered a past life memory.

The thing I am confused about is that we believe we were a young couple during WWII-era America, most likely in the same area as we live now. I find it strange that our past lives would be in the same area, and have fallen in love as well, since most people seem to have past lives from completely different countries who lived completely different lives.

I suppose what I'm asking is, do you all think this is a possibility, something real?

Have you meditated much on this? I don't think it's too unsual to be drawn back to an area. If you were both there before, perhaps you both went back looking for each other.

Hi Ash, welcome to the forum :)

The same souls encountering each other again and again through consecutive lives is very well documented, and it is widely believed in the reincarnation community that we all belong to our own soul 'group' or 'family'. We reincarnate with members of our soul group in different roles with each lifetime, so it is possible that we could be lovers in one life, then parent and child in the next, best friends, enemies, partners, you name it. Now the reason why we tend to reincarnate with the same souls is open for discussion, but I think the general belief is that it's so that we can assist each other to grow and learn in different circumstances. So I would say yes, it's certainly possible that you and your girlfriend have been together before if you both feel that way.

As for being drawn to the same location, well that's not unheard of either. We have members here who have lived more than one life in the same place, and probably for their own personal reasons.

Thank you both for the replies! We both have very active imaginations, and so in the beginning we were worried that we may have simply been making the whole thing up subconsciously. I am much more sure of it now.

To Ash:

Hello Ash, and welcome to the Past Life Forum, where like minded individuals like yourself can gather and safely discuss topics that might, in the open public, invite ridicule, but here are perfectly normal.

Your hesitation in believing Past Lives is certainly understandable, but once you get past the doubts, it becomes perfectly logical.

Christian and some other denominations quite often deny Reincarnation, but as I am fond of saying "Reincarnation fits Christianity (and Others) like a glove".

Your question is a good one, it is not unlikely and highly probable, that you and your girlfriend shared a Past Life (PL) together, quite possibly in the same general area, and returned to take care of some unsolved business or perhaps your lives in the PL was abruptly ended for some reason and you were given a second chance by your Guides on the Other Side.

IMHO, the only real way to tell, other than dreams perhaps, is both of you to undergo a professional regression by a competent therapist who is trained in PL regressions, however it can be an expensive course to undertake, especially considering the state of the economy.

Now for the most part, these suggestions are my own opinion and not the Forums, but after years of research and study, I believe this to be a reality, at least it is for me, but your mileage may vary, so feel free to ask ANY questions here and we will attempt to answer them for you, and good luck with your search.

Hi, Math!

As a vet, your story is especially meaningful for me. Of course, the word "soul" or "spirit" was never used during my studies at college, and I've always had doubts about pets having souls. But through my research, and after hearing so many stories like yours, now I'm pretty sure they're true spiritual companions, while we're incarnated and beyond.

I've had dreams in which I died, at least a couple of times in my life, and they've always happened when drastic changes were taking place or were going to take place in the immediate future, for example losing a job or passing through a especially hard time after which I felt like a different person. So this dream of yours could have been a kind of premonitory dream.

I can't make a lot of your other dreams, besides there's a strong link between you and your dog as Nightrain says. Maybe part of his "energy" was still there in his ashes when you went to collect them, and he wanted you to know he's still with you. I've heard some accounts from people saying you can meet your pets' souls in the afterlife, just like any other human soul, and though it seems they have their own area in the spiritual world, they can get back to you and will still remember you.

And by the way, it's good you're rigorous and want proof. My scientific mind makes me think a lot, too much sometimes, but it never prevents me to believe there are a lot of undeniable truths that science can't explain.

Thanks for your thoughts Eowyn.

I am always uncomfortable with events which cannot be proved and which, may, appear to be connected by coincidence.

As for coincidence with regards to my current circumstances, let's see what the board makes of this:

I received a call (on the day I posted originally here), (31 days after the death of my dog) from a dog pound I registered with a few weeks ago.

They asked me if I could possibly take in another dog who had been dumped.

The collection date given was exactly 32 days after the death of my dog.

I went to meet this dog to find:

One of its eyes was closed - the same eye that was closing in my dog during his illness (third eyelid problems).

It had a large mark on its skull at the same position where my dog's tumour was (the rest of its body is essentially clear of markings).

It was limping on the same leg my dog had been - (can't say there's a one in four chance this would happen as there's a greater probability it wouldn't have been limping at all).

It was the same breed as my dog (this is not surprising, as I had expressed a preference for this breed).

I took this dog home and it immediately settled in the same spot of the house my dog used to. It may well be an "obvious spot" to go to in a dog's mind but it's just one of half a dozen comfortable places it could have gone to.

It toilets in the same spot mine used to - maybe there's a urinary scent still there?

It is, from appearance, roughly the same age as mine reached (we can't be sure though as there's no prior history available).

It has the same nervous twitch mine did while sleeping.

And the same "double breath" respiration while sleeping, which is not indicative of the breed and is roughly double the normal rate.

The vet says it is reasonably healthy, if a bit old and worn out, however.

So, lots of coincidences - some more likely than others - but the 32 issue is a particularly odd one.

Of course, this causes problems in the usual reincarnation model - you don't get an aging dog revisiting you 32 days later as another aging dog. Do souls split or divide?

I think you might agree that the many coincidences pertaining to the recently adopted dog would seems to relate to some kind of psychic synchronicity which speaks more of your soul connection with the previous companion. As you imply, such things don't fit the usual model of Reincarnation, and I very much doubt that there was any soul-splitting going on here. This is not to say that such a thing would be impossible; but it is more likely that you were somehow drawn or directed with the help of your emotional connection to another dog which may have also shared some kind of deep connection with your companion.

Hello to my new friends

Hi everybody:

As time allows, I'll share more about myself on the forum. For now, I will tell you that I have had a lifelong interest in the topic of reincarnation. In recent years, I have gone through "past-life" and "between lives" regression therapy, which I found to be very useful in my own personal spiritual development. As the old saying goes: "The proof is in the pudding", and I can only tell you that my experiences have had a profound and positive effect on me.

Best wishes to all.

I'm glad to hear that. I think that past life research can be an incredible source of healing.

Welcome to the forums!

Welcome to the forum! I, too, have found tremendous healing and understanding through my research into past lives and reincarnation. I look forward to reading about your investigations and revelations.

Hi, Khandisi! I read through some of your posts and you're a good writer with a great sense of detail. Thanks for sharing! :)

Honestly, I don't know if a soul (animal or human) can split, but I've heard of people claiming simultaneous lives and I do believe a soul can be in two or more places at a given time, as time and space are not as we know it in the spiritual realm.

Plus, I don't believe in coincidence anymore. If you are a mathematician, you know much better than me the probabilities of something like that happening. If you doubt, just listen to your heart. I know it's a bit soon and you're still mourning the death of your dog, but just give it time and ask yourself the same question in a few months. Maybe you'll see clearer then.
