Old Friends Meet At A Psychic Faire

This happened back in the early 90's. I was at a Psychic Faire one day and someone caught my attention. She was talking to a friend about past lives and as I approached I let my mind run free. I saw her as a man in ancient Rome and I "remembered" her as a friend of mine back then about as easily as I would remember an old friend from school in this life. It was quite a trip, really. Without thinking, I called out "Eh, Roma!" I sensed immediately that it was a nickname because this person was so patriotic about Rome, not unlike calling a very patriotic American 'Uncle Sam'. She looked up and we both crossed the courtyard and clasped hands and hugged. She called me 'Claudius' (not the Emperor, for sure!) and we just rolled into the conversation, essentially letting our souls speak to one another. It was so casual, asking how each other had been, do we remember much between then and now, etc. We parted ways and I saw her a few times after that in the course of business, but our lives were on different tracks and we left it to the winds to send us to where we needed to be. After all, it wasn't like we'd never meet again, eh?

I haven't had a meeting like that since, however.

(Funny how the mind's eye works. I saw a slightly heavy-set woman of about my age with light brown curly hair and a ready smile, but in my mind I was talking to an older man, tall and thin, with straight pepper-grey hair and a beard (no moustache) who didn't seem to smile very much, but when he did it was a genuine smile. No lies from this guy! Hmm, I wonder what 'Roma' saw in her mind's eye?)

Hi Shiftkitty,

Very interesting experience. These are far and few in-between, at least for me. I am curious when you say "in your minds eye I saw...." For me, I see them holographically superimposed. I am wondering if your experience is similar in this way. I bet if you saw her again - you's pick up right where you left off. :cool

When I was looking at her it was as though my mental impression of her was superimposed, as you say. I didn't have the physical image of the older man in my physical vision, but imagine you met an old friend whom you last saw in, say, pigtails and a red gingham dress. The next time you see her she's in a business suit with a professional hair style. You talk to her as a business woman, but you still see the little girl in pigtails whom you used to race to the swings.

Interesting experience, especially as she seemed to be remembering as well. I wonder, did she call you Claudius as a nickname/poking fun, because she thought that was your actual name, or because she wanted to see if you were remembering what she was because you called her Roma?

Thanks for sharing!

I honestly don't know. The name rang a bell with me, that's for sure! Maybe she did what I did and just let instincts steer things. Try as I did, I couldn't place an actual name to the older man, only Roma. I'm pretty sure we were both relieved to have some kind of personal verification, as we both seemed to remember some minor scene. We spoke in modern lingo (She apologized for not having any wine and I remember saying "That's a first for you!") and people around us seemed to be ignoring us, each with their own place to go and things to see. The scene was kind of like an ancient forum and the energy was very high, so that may have facilitated the mutual memory. It was a grand feeling!

I've been to several psychic fairs and each one was different in some way to me, for instance, one fair I might learn about meditation skills to access Past Lives, others I might learn more about stones or understanding the Aura or dreams.

Each fair has had something unique happen to me and if it's close by, I hope to attend one again, now that I'm more or less medically stable, I can't wait to see what the next one holds. :)
