Overheard A Mother...

... while I was making my deliveries. One of the girls behind the front desk was telling a cute story about her young daughter who was helping her make cupcakes. The little girl was about 3 or so and was excited to be helping mommy. The only problem seems to have come when mommy reached for the can of frosting. The little girl said they should make their own frosting. Mommy said this would be easier and just as yummy. Her daughter then put on an indignant look and huffed "I've always made my own frosting!" There was some chuckling while the woman told her co-workers that her daughter would have gotten along well with her grandmother, who always insisted on making her own frosting.

It wasn't my place to intrude, so I made my delivery and left, hoping some day mom and daughter would make frosting from scratch.

:D

I have a feeling that the mom will be sharing more cute stories since the little girl doesn't sound like the type to keep her preferences contained :) I can only imagine the similarities the mom will be noticing in the future :)

What a lovely little story. It goes to show that the problem with reincarnation isn't the lack of cases, but the lack of understanding them. If reincarnation was widely accepted, the mother would certainly have interpreted the situation differently :)

Very well said, Sunniva

I don't blame the little girl or the grandma. Canned frosting is most definitely not as yummy as homemade ...

LOL! True! My husband loves to make things from as far down the "scratch" ladder as possible. This has come in handy since the economy took a downward spiral, as things like flour, rice, and other staples are still cheap, and can be used in so many recipes. You really get your moeny's worth!

There seems to be a PL connection as well for the both of us. A lot of the self-reliant things we do now just for economic survival carries a familiar tinge. Making our own butter, whipped cream, soap, etc., we both know we've done this before. Though my husband is uncertain about reincarnation, I have gotten him, a couple of times, to not look up a recipe but to just try to "remember" it. It's worked a couple of times. He relaxes his mind and thinks about what he wants the end result to taste like, and then he starts thinking about what goes into that taste. He says the amounts just seem to start to come to him. He's been spot on more than half of the time. One recipe that he did we looked up later and found he had not used the modern recipe but used one that was more than 150 years old!

Thank you for the story ShiftKitty

When you have a better insight into reincarnation and what the possibilities are it really changes a lot on how you perceive and see the things around you.

Such as the case of the little girl, who may be her mother's reincarnated grandmother.

Comments like that just don't happen.

"I always made my own frosting!"

My own mother made her own frosting and bread, but if I ever heard my own 3 year old daughter say that I would indeed be quite surprised!

Thank you for sharing. Interesting story.
