Past life experience? Without visual impressions?

:D Hi Ailish.

To tell you the truth, a string of stressful events has comprised the past few weeks of my life. Thankfully, things seemed to have reached a calm for me to collect myself. However, because the days (and nights, in some cases), have left me so drained, I've been in and out of numbness.

So, no, I haven't made any discernible progress in learning how to influence the blossoming/releasing in my Ajna center. In fact, not surprisingly, the pressure and tightness seemed to intensify, not just in my Ajna region but all thoughtout my mental body - crown, forehead, arms, palms, heart and even solar plexus. I chalk this up to maintaining, for the most part, such a calm, collected demeanor on the outside so much of the time when inside I was aching for solutions to problems I felt so helpless "against".

However, just last night, I seem to have experienced an all-over body release. I saw many images of shaman/tribal priest/priestess-like people in my mind's eye. This occured without my calling upon anything within or outside of myself.

The last image in the series remains the most vivid: a fair-skinned man swathed in white robes. He donned a matching, turban-like head-covering and was sitting cross-legged on the floor of a white stone monument/temple. The curtains, also white, drawn aside on either side of an archway behind him, revealed this monument/temple was open-air and I could see sky and sun.

At the beginning of the vision, he seemed to be meditating, facing me but with eyes closed. There seemed to be something emanating from his forhead, his Ajna region. An echo of light is the best was I can explain it. It was definitely there but it did not obscure him from my view at all. Then, as if he sensed someone watching him, his eyes popped open with surprise. His expression shifted mildly as though he actually saw me. Then, I felt as though I were being sucked away by my forehead and chest away from the vision/image. It was gone.

This vision coincides exactly with my interest in the past (both my spirit's and in general) undergoing a huge surge of energy, like an electric shock from a spiritual defibulator to break through the numbness. :)

Funnily enough, an acquaintance of mine felt the need to tell me earlier today that, "Your guides are helping you to open up to your past lives. You're connecting to a series of lives you lived as an American Indian."

I know her to be very intuitive and trust what she has to say based on my experiences with her. She was not giving me a reading and I did not ask her for the information; she was simply getting ready to ring up a customer who was ahead of me at the bookstore she works in when it hit her. The book I was about to purchase "just happened to be" on the an American Indian/Native American subject.

So, that's an update. :) As for the last part of the vision, I have to wonder why I was "sucked away" from him and why there was so much WHITE.

Hiya Chansa,

Nice to see you again! :D

I'm sorry that you've been experiencing some difficult times lately. :( It certainly does make it harder to relax & "release" when there is a continuous flow of thoughts & emotions building up from within.

I find that this is the best and most challenging time to meditate -- for me. I have read in various texts -- and heard it mentioned by many different people that you should not meditate when you are sad -- or when you are angry -- or when you are feeling anything but calm and serene.

Personally, that ideaology doesn't work for me :o That's when I want to go into myself -- into my heart center to find that inner peace and light and joyfulness of being. In doing so, the negativity falls away and I am better able to focus and concentrate on situations that need a resolution. ;)

However, just last night, I seem to have experienced an all-over body release. I saw many images of shaman/tribal priest/priestess-like people in my mind's eye. This occured without my calling upon anything within or outside of myself.

Sounds like you had a little help with the release. :D I'm glad you found some relief...

I love the spirituality of your vision -- there is a depth to it that is profoundly moving. I'd love to hear more about your past lives -- as you discover them. I hope you'll share! :)

The book I was about to purchase "just happened to be" on the an American Indian/Native American subject.

Gotta love that good old synchronicity -- giving you a little head's up...telling you, you're on the right track.

(((((((Chansa)))))))) Sending you good thoughts & light -- feel better soon, okay?

Ailish

I completely agree Ailish. The last few weeks of my life have been totally chaotic and meditation gives me a well deserved break from the chaos, a chance to center and ground myself when I need it most.

Oddly enough, when life started getting crazy is when I started having my dream visions, I feel as if something going on in the present has triggered the memories of the past, and I felt the need to research and explore more than I ever have before. Meditation is my saving grace during times of struggle.

Well, I certainly didn’t have any visual impressions. And I was disturbed by it as well, because everybody else did seem to have them. It made me feel my memories were somehow second-rate. So I’m glad to hear others had non-visual impressions too. With me they were more like experiences, mostly feelings, some thoughts. The first was of being tortured, wildly shaking my head to and fro, grinding my teeth, clenching and unclenching my fists, moaning. This was with a professional therapist and afterwards I felt completely drained and I could hardly get home. During that therapy I started having more or less spontaneous, or at least very easily triggered, regressions at home. In fact you could say I was regressing all over the place. One of those memories was of a life as a woman in tsarist Russia. And in this case too I was experiencing the scene mostly through feelings. I was dancing with my lover. I could hear the tune, I still have got it in my head, and felt myself swirling around, wildly happy. The thing is, I really felt like a woman, I noticed my face mimicking a flirtatious expression.

What a fascinating thread! As someone who is not "remembering" past lives directly- especially not visually- this has been a great help. I'll have to check out "The Lost Chord." Thanks!

This thread has reminded me of something that I've experienced in terms of remembering something without seeing it. This is something very deep and personal that I'm not sure if I've shared before here or not, but here it goes...

Ok, I think I've mentioned before that I have this good friend of mine. We've pretty much been life long friends and he's been like a brother to me. If fact, I have no doubt he probably was a brother in a past life. Anyway, he as two young children. They're a year apart in age and have both started school now. I've been around them since the day they were born. His daughter and I have a very close connection. She's such a loving and gentle soul, and it is obvious to everyone how close we are. There's no doubt that we have a soul relationship that has gone on for many lifetimes. His son, though I care about him, I do not feel as close to. In fact, he irritates me and even makes me feel uncomfortable. Both children are very affectionate, but the feeling I get from each of them is very different. To be honest, when his son touches me I almost feel like I'm being violated. No, I'm not being touched inappropriately. It's just a feeling that I can't explain. Why do I feel this way? Afterall, he's just an innocent little boy and I'm a grown man. It doesn't make an sense that he would make me feel so uneasy.

I figured there had to be something from a past life at work here. There was nothing from this life to explain any of it. I meditated on it one day and asked to know the root of this unease. I got no visual interpretation but very strong feelings came over me. Intense fear came over me and the feeling of being physically overwhelmed. I felt as though I was being held down and violated. To put it bluntly, I felt like I was being raped. I felt so scared and helpless, and wanted to start crying.

...and then it was gone. My tense body relaxed, and I felt this incredible sense of relief. I felt at peace. It was a strange experience unlike anything I've ever experienced before or since. I did not see or hear anything. It was all feelings. Strangely, since experiencing that my feelings have eased around my friend's son. I don't know how else to interpret it other than his son might have raped me in a past life and there was a stuck energy surrounding that. Remembering it released that energy.

If that is really what happened, I hold no anger against his son over it. It doesn't matter now. I'm just glad that my feelings towards him have improved.

Past life experience? Without visual impressions?

I tend to see my past lives visually quite clearly, but when I think back on a past life memory I had last year, I realize that some of the things I remember I have no visual image for. A past life memory is so complicated, just like a living person, all your senses are at work, sight, smell, hearing, physical touch, your emotional reactions to things etc. that you are never really just 'seeing' a past life memory, there are always underlying things you pick up on without even meaning to.

Remembering it released that energy.
Yes - I think sometimes all you have to do is remember. Even if you don't visually see the whole memory and it's just the strong emotional impressions, you can still release so much.

In my case the situation is reversed with the body doing the releasing (emotions from prior to the soul exchange) and me (the new soul) doing the integrating (bringing in the new memories and all that comes with that).

I went to check out that 'Lost Chord' CD, and I clicked on the sample one, that dealt with the void. That one reminded me of the music I already listen to, though not often. It's a playlist I put together of many of the songs from Nox Arcana's 'Phantoms of the High Seas' and some pieces from the Pirates of the Caribbean series such as 'Calypso', 'Mermaids', and 'On Stranger Tides'. But I don't meditate or anything - I'm by far more of a visual person working with dreams or visions.

This is a great thread by Chansa. She certainly is a brilliant writer. However, I am a little confused though as to how ajna and the such actually work. Do you visualise light/flower/etc emenating from that location, or is it a theoretical location, if that is the right word, from which the visualisation supposedly centres and takes place?

I did have a look on wikipedia, and it said about ajna being seated between the eyebrows and associated with dreaming, creativity and intuition. Slap bang between my eyebrows however, is the only place I have a continual spot of acne! A similarity to the bamboo analogy maybe? : angel I don't know if that means it is blocking my reciept of visualisations and why I cannot switch my mind off and focus, or it is there because I do constantly try and visualise and focus so am overworking the site?!

I only glanced over all the original posts in this thread (which seems great, I'll go back and read when I have more time), but here is my take on third eye etc and all the questions you have here.

First of all, it is important to make the distinction between visualization and mind's eye vision. Visualization is actually a mistranslation of Eastern languages to describe the technique used by many during meditation and kundalini yoga etc. Visualization is actually imagination, it means imagining things, imagining seeing things or imagining energy flowing through your body etc When you do this you don't really "see" anything, it is a purely imaginative technique.

Mind's eye vision on the other hand is a completely visual ability, it is just like the vision with your eyes, except much more enhanced than your eye's vision. In addition to normal vision, it allows you to see auras, visions of the past present and future, and see through all of time and space.

Mind's eye vision is located in the sixth chakra which is between the eye brows. It is not really a lotus flower, that is just symbolic, think of it more as a non-physical energetic structure that extends from the forehead straight through the brain and out to the back of the head. It is more of a non-physical tunnel that goes right through your head rather than an eye sitting on your forehead.

Most people do not have mind's eye vision, this is because the energetic structures in the 6th chakra needed for mind's eye vision are not developed and have to be built up before the third eye can awaken. So it can be thought of as a non-physical piece of your anatomy that needs to be built up before you can use it, much like a muscle.

What many do not realize is that psychic information can be obtained through mind's eye vision AND via imagination(visualization). However many people seem to confuse the two and think they are one and the same thing (they are not). Many people encounter difficulties trying to use either one as the two things are often confused and thought of as the same thing which often results in people trying to use both techniques at once which results in mental blocks and frustration.

It is unlikely that you currently have mind's eye vision, but anybody can learn how to use their imagination to obtain psychic information almost immediately. Mind's eye vision/clairvoyance on the other hand takes more commitment and a great deal of "energy work" to develop.

If you are interested in using visualization/imagination to tap into past lives and other psychic information I would recommend this book:

http://www.amazon.com/Clairvoyance-Insight-Only-Daydream-Away/dp/1439262063/ref=sr_1_21?ie=UTF8&qid=1321907593&sr=8-21

BTW, the title is misleading, it isn't really clairvoyance/mind's eye vision, it is visualization/imagination, just goes to show how often the two are confused, as often the terms clairvoyance, mind's eye and visualization are used interchangeably.

If you want to go down the longer path of developing full clairvoyance by awakening the third eye, I would recommend Awakening the Third Eye:

http://www.clairvision.org/ckb/ckbe/ckbl/fol_0000_0001/cat_0000_0001/SaganATE.pdf

To awaken the third eye you need to develop your entire energy body, not just the 6th chakra. Robert Bruce's book "Energy Work" is very helpful for this use, actually quicker and more efficient than yoga or meditation.:

In this video Robert Bruce describes his New Energy Ways System of energetic development, as well as the difference between visualization and mind's eye vision/clairvoyance:

Speaking of the 'Third Eye' - I typically like to work with crystals to help supplement my essences I use.

Some of my favorites are:

Iolite and Sodalite

I tend to really like the Iolite the best though.

I will be getting some Purpurite for myself because I think that will help me work on 're-wiring' the brain and go well with the essences.

My mother once love placing Lavender scent around the house. My room included. Did not do much except enhance my sleepwalking. I went to the washroom while sleeping and instead of heading back towards my room, I went to my parents room instead. Imagine my surprise when I wake up....

That's rather interesting...because Lavender is usually used to relax! It's one of my favorite scents and I do use Lavender essential oil along with Lavender soap (all natural type - not that fake stuff), and other toiletries. For some odd reason it seems to help the body with regards to the trauma, and it also helps me out. There's nothing quite so heartwarming as a vintage wardrobe like I have smelling like Lavender...ahh...I just love 'old' scents! :)

Perhaps that would be a good thread/topic - memories conjured up by the sense of smell. :)

Chansa you still around?

One of my favorite older threads and a great topic. : angel

For those who do not hear sound in meditations/regressions - here is a thread about - those without visuals.

I've had a few meditation experiences (including one lately)without audio/visual experiences which "felt" like it may have been past-life related.

I've started meditations (after being away from meditation for awhile). Hence, actual audio/visual experiences may occur in response to consistent meditation routines.
