Past Life Possibilities

Hi, everyone, I'm Chris, and a new member of this forum. Interesting stuff you're all talking about here.

A few things that I've thought about ... would be curious if anyone else has wondered about this stuff:

1. Past life locations: Are we limited to earth? Or are there all sorts of places throughout the universe that we might have gone to? There could be other planets, other galaxies with completely different natural laws than Earth which might fit into our soul's plan for growth and experience.

2. Past life time: Here on earth, in this dimension, time moves along in a very specific direction at a very specific pace. However, we don't know if time in other dimensions ... or if even "soul-time" ... works the same way. Perhaps as the soul grows from incarnation to incarnation, it jumps around through time, so that what are past lives in "soul time" could really be happening in the future in Earth time.

3. If the universe is full of infinite possibilities ... could our soul be incarnated in a limitless number of our current lives in different ways ... all at the same time?

Basically, long story short, the whole subject of when and where we have lived before might be a WHOLE lot bigger than we think it is. Curious to hear your thoughts ...

Hi Chris and welcome to the forum.

Probably most members think that the possibilities for us to experience the unfolding of the universe are endless. Although, the discussion of other world and alien lives are not permitted by the forum rules (see the FAQ page), there is a lot of speculation about the multidimensional nature of our reality - and what that actually means.

As far as simultaneous lifetimes go, people are all over the page on that topic.

Do you have any past life memories or any memories that you wonder if they could be past life related?

Hi, Stardis; thanks for the welcome!

I feel pretty sure that I had a life that ended in a plane crash in Germany in 1943. I also feel pretty sure that that life did not lead directly to the one I'm in now.

It's sorta like when I think about what I remember about that one, it's like driving past an old neighborhood where you haven't lived for years ... and that you've had plenty of life experience since then. So it feels connected to my experience, but it also feels like there's been other lifetimes that have occurred between that one and this one.

If that's the case ... and I died in 1943 and was born into this current life in 1955 ... it's certainly possible that I could have had a number of short, abbreviated lives between those two dates. However, on my personal soul timeline, it feels like a lot more physical life experience went on than that.

Unfortunately, there are so many children that live only a short time that you could have experienced a number of lives in that interval. Maybe meditating on that, over time, will open some doors for you. There are the self-regression resources available also, like CDs and I have read about something on YouTube that is a regression exercise but have never looked at it.

Another resource for regression CDs.

There are a lot of good resources on the FAQ page.

Hi Chris, welcome to the forum :)

I don't think anybody can give you an accurate answer to your questions, we can only speculate with our individual opinions.

I think it would be extremely arrogant of us as a race to claim that we only incarnate and learn everything there is to know here on Earth, but as stardis pointed out, discussion in this forum is limited to past lives on this planet only, so I won't go any further with my thoughts on this.

There's a lot of discussion here about time and simultaneous lives. A common belief is that time is an illusion that we only experience in our physical form, and what may seem like 50 years here on Earth can pass in the blink of an eye in the spiritual realm. Some people believe that we can reincarnate both in the future and in the past, I still have an open mind on that one : angel

Have you read Michael Talbot's book: The Holographic Universe?

Looking forward to your input, do you think further exploration of your own past life memories would be something that would interest you?

Chris :)

Hello, SoulBuffet Chris! Welcome to the Forum.

One of the interesting things we notice, when reading about the memories of all the forum members, is how we can see certain generalities that are most common among them. And, it does appear that the focus seems to be on the earth; and, that all the lives seem to occur in consecutive order, in this dimension, and in the same linear time scale. It would also appear that we reincarnate with the same soul group with each relationship and each gender changing from life to life.

There seems to be a small minority of people, whose experiences don't fit the above generalizations. But most of us seem to agree that the generalized model is probably true for us all. So, while it is true that we can only speculate about the accuracy of our individual experiences; we can derive certain clues by comparing everyone's individual memories and experiences. I personally agree that the universe is full of infinite possibilities. I also feel, however, that our possibilities may be limited to only this one dimension for the time being. Perhaps, after reaching a certain level of understanding, we are allowed to explore the next dimension with its own different set of rules and behaviors.

Hi, SoulBuffet! A very interesting topic! I'm still wrapping my mind around the idea of 'soul time'. I want to remain open-minded on the subject, though I personally hold no beliefs for or against the idea of the past, present, and future timelines all occurring simultaneously. It's very intriguing, and it certainly seems to fit perfectly into quantum physics, at least as far as my puny mind is capable of understanding quantum physics.

I also feel, however, that our possibilities may be limited to only this one dimension for the time being.
I once read a theory that there are many different 'environments' we can reincarnate in. It also said that our Souls have to complete cycles, and once a Soul assigned (?) for a cycle of life on Earth - which might span maybe innumeral lifetimes - it had to complete a cycle before it would be allowed or ready for reincarnation somewhere else (be it other dimensions, other galaxies, I don't know). I found a certain logic in this theory... :)

So I think the memories of Life on Planet Earth already contain enough useful information to talk and think about on this Forum. :)

I think that our concepts of linear time are an illusion, albeit a necessary one. If time is a man-made construct, then everything is NOW. Everything is in constant motion, constantly changing. All realities co-exist.

I think it's a bit like Back to the Future, where a single change means a new branching off into a different dimension. We wouldn't notice this happening because we're not seeing the Big Picture, but perhaps it happens constantly and we're none the wiser.

Intellectually I understand this is not only possible but it's probable... and there's just not enough strong black coffee in the world to allow me to really explore the idea without my head exploding.

It would take more than just coffee for me to really, truly, grasp the mechanics of how time operates! I'd need a brain transplant, or some other really neat, freakish, Frankenstein-type science-fiction scenario, to wrap my mind around what's very probably fact, not fiction.

Here's a thought that could make both of our heads explode.

What if there are an infinite number of dimensions, each created by a single difference choice made by a single person/soul...multiplied by an infinite number of souls?

I need a double-espresso.

Here's another question...do people think that some of what we are experiencing is a tapping into of the collective subconcious? Joseph Campbell when writing about the heroic archetype talked about it a little....just wondering:-)

Based on numerous book and articles, one could certainly believe that we are all able tap into the collective subconscious, otherwise referred to as the "Akashic Record". Apparently future information can be gained as well as past information; however, it seems to come in a way that we can deal with it in our own time sense -- as cause and effect.

I had an experience shortly after the Haiti earthquake that can only be described as horrifying. I'm still not sure what to make of it. I'll try to describe it - maybe someone has an idea of what exactly was going on.

It was the day of the earthquake and many, many people were still missing. I was lying in bed and thinking about the missing Lynn University students when it happened: I was a woman experiencing what happened at exactly the moment when the quake brought down the building. I experienced her panic, fear and just as quickly, her resignation. When she got to resignation she was focused on her regret that she could not call her family. It all happened in a split second, so I suspect she died almost instantly. The experience lasted only seconds but I was THERE. It was actually very frightening.

I don't know who she was, only that she was a female and was from somewhere in the West because she had a cellphone and was visiting. She was thinking in English - or I was simply thinking in English because that's my native language. I'm pretty sure she was in one of the hotels. I am 100% sure that she died.

Edited to add: She was alone when the quake hit - in her room - in case that's important.

I think I tapped into some sort of stream of consciousness, if that's an accurate way to put it.

I just had a thought yesterday about this Akashic Record.

For many years I've had visions, just as I was about to fall asleep, of a large book in front of me that I'm apparently reading. I have repeatedly tried to read the words but never can. The book is always the same and I'm always turning the pages and reading it. I always thought it was just a book but now I wonder if it was/is something more.

What am I doing? Am I reading up on my life plan so I can face the next day or something? Is it a blueprint or road map, or a way to keep me on a certain path? I don't know.

I've learned to believe that whatever you remember from dreams has some meaning, no matter how strange and confusing they may be. And, the fact that you connected your book with the Akashic record certainly seems appropriate.
