Hi Lighten. Wow! I didn't expect such a quick response at all. To answer your qustion about how I got my name, well, my first name just popped into my head one day. Literally! And it felt so right, as if I always knew that's who I was. Things just happen to me like that. Out of the blue, I just get information. Since I've always excepted reincarnation, for a long time, if I had a dream, I'd just accept it as being me "way back when". But one day, I got the courage up to have a friend of mine who's certified in hypnotherapy to regress me, just to make sure I wasn't a kook (LOL). What I got was not only my first name, but my last name, and where I grew up. We kept things very simple during that regression, like who I was, and where I was, which struck a chord with her. Since then she's hit me with info that I've never discussed to anyone, not even during that regression. Certain specifics, like the clothes I was wearing when we met, and she even described what I looked like. Which matched exactly what I was wearing in my dream. Then one day, another friend of mine turned to me, and said something about this particular life (my name and a few dates). We weren't even on the topic of past lives at all. But again, it was info that I've kept to myself. As far as the famous person thing goes, uhm, yeah, it's more than possible that you did bump into someone of noteriety. As an FYI, I've always had a problem with the fact that history books have played Custer up as a hero. Even as a kid in elementary school, while everyone else was "cheering him", I'd get an uncomfortable chill and body shiver at the mere mention of his name. To answer your other question about my name back then, my first name was Dale. I was born in the southwestern part of N. Carolina, outside of Charlotte. During my regression, my friend could hardly understand what I was saying because of the distinct drawl that came out <G>. During the Civil War, sadly I saw my baby brother shot and killed. Thru twists of fate, I ended up in the Kansas Territory. I was part of a medical unit attached to the calvery and initially held the rank of Lieutanent, then promoted to Capt'n. Later on, I was transferred with my C.O. and unit to the Dakotas. In my dream, (the one where I was in the Dakotas), I was standing on an incline (hilly area), in cavelry style uniform, double-breasted dark blue jacket, cut to the waist, light blue trousers, knee-high black boots & black hat). The hill where I was standing was fairly wooded, mostly pine. I was looking thru the trees, and had a vision of buffalo running. What struck me, was that I saw a white buffalo too. I kinda blinked, then turned to go back up the hill to my horse. The next thing I remember (still dreaming), was a little indian boy running out from the trees chased by a bear. I grabbed my rifle and took down the bear. I had some other men (soldiers) that came up because of the rifle shots. Next thing I knew one of the soldiers, on his horse made to aim his rifle at the indian boy, I yelled "no", and the rifle's aim was switched from the boy to me. I was shot in the left shoulder and thrown backwards down the hill, rolling. I was barely aware of things. Somehow a piece of a branch was sticking out of my left pelvis. I was laying on my back, bleeding alot, then I lost conciousness. Then I woke up. That dream was kept re-occuring for a while. Since then, I've had more dreams. Kinda like the "continuing story". But I'll leave that for now since this is already really long. Hope this has answered your questions. Feel free to "pick my brain". LOL.
