Strange dream

Sunniva

It's been a long time since I've shared anything, so I thought I'd pop in with a random dream that I've been wondering if it was past life related.

Up until a certain point the dream was not past life related. I don't really remember much of it until the 'scene' that has had me wondering: I was on board a ship. My first thought was the Titanic, but I think in that as my mind just went with what was familiar. It was in the same style as Titanic, extravagant interior, early 20th century - a decor like you've seen on the pictures of the Titanic. I was a woman, high class and I apparently had a twin brother.

The scene was only short and upon realizing that it might have been past life related, I woke up. I and my twin brother were in a room, perhaps the captain's cabin, but I'm not sure. It was some kind of administrative room and three men in official uniforms were sitting at a table. I marched right in, didn't knock on the door and put up an argument. Apparently a tragic incident had taken place on the ship, however I was very concerned that me and my twin brother's 30th birthday party had been canceled. I was aware that this incident had taken place among 2nd or 3rd class passengers and that it had shocked many passengers and was quite severe. However, I was very insistent that my birthday should be celebrated. I remember saying:"Perhaps having a party could highten their spirits!" (I said this in English, I usually dream in Danish). I remember the official men looking disbelieving at me.

I woke up immediately having said that. It had appalled me since it's very unlike me to be that way. Also it puzzled me that I had spoken in English and that the dream had changed so suddenly into something completely different. Also the fact that I was concerned about my 30th birthday is strange since I'm only 26 and not concerned about me getting older at all.

So all in all a very strange dream. If you have any opinions or questions please share :)

Sorry I'm aware there are some strange mistakes, but the vBulletin doesn't work so well on my iPad, so I can't really edit my post : angel

Unlike Hypnotic Regression, I get all of my "input" about Past Lives through my dreams, having dreamed of two main ones through these dreams.

The common saying is that "A mind is a terrible thing to waste", but in my case it's certainly wasted on me , it has, so to speak, a mind of it's own.

I can't force it to send me a dream, whenever it is in the right mood, it might send a PL dream my way, so on occasion I'll have a dream that might be a PL dream, or it might be one of my (what I call) "trash dreams", silly dreams that relate to the events that occurred during the day.

Only a few times lately has it produced any quality, that comes close to even being remotely a PL dream, and the only way I can separate the "wheat from the chafe" is to literally analyze what little I might have remembered of it, and see what that reveals.

So that is me, and your mileage may vary, but good luck with your dreaming!

Hi Sunniva,

That sounds like a real past life impression to me. The sense of entitlement you felt in the previous lifetime, together with how it struck your present self as you observed it unfold, is so like the feelings I have from the views of some of my past lives. I have often been aghast at the attitudes I had previously portrayed and the effects they had on those witnessing it at that time. My self-judgments of previous actions have at times been extremely harsh...and I cannot think that I would care if I didn't have some strong undercurrent of ownership involved in the improper actions.

I would be very interested to hear more about your english-speaking lifetime if and when you would like to share it.

Hi Sunniva!

Knowing how objective you can be, I would take your dream as highly indicative of a possible past life memory -- especially since you captured the emotional quality of the period so accurately.

By the way, I caught what little mistakes there were, and gave you some American spellings as well. Hope you don't mind.

Perhaps you were English in this PL, and you were on board one of the large White Star or Cunard lines ships, like the Olympic or Brittanic. It is almost as though you were related to one of the officers to have burst in like that and demanded that your birthday be celebrated despite the "incident". I don't think that the ship could have been the Titanic, because I don't think that you would be demanding a birthday party as the ship was sinking. I wonder if it may have been 1914, sometime during the outbreak of WW I, this news may have made the officers concerned, as their ships would be requisitioned for the war service.

Thanks for replying :) And thanks, Nightrain for correcting the mistakes : angel

I haven't got any other memories to support this dream, unfortunately. My 'chronology of past lives' is not very well-developed, however I see that the suggested period is a bit crowded already on my time-line.

I've never pondered the possibility of having a twin, and it also seemed as if he played a very peripheral part. He was there in the room with me, but he was silent and I didn't look at him. Of the two of us, it seems I was the outspoken one - or perhaps he was uncomfortable with the situation, a bit embarrased of my apparant lack of empathy.

As I said, the impression I got was the Titanic, however I also knew in the dream that it was not the Titanic. A quick search on twins on the Titanic (yes, there are lots of hits - even a message board discussion on the topic - gotta love Google:laugh:) prooved that apparantly there were no twins among 1st class passengers. However, obviously I would be curious if anyone had an idea on which ship it was and what horrible incidence could have occurred.

Unfortunately I can't remember if I spoke in British or American English, which makes this difficult. Also the only real clue I've got is that the official men I was shouting at were wearing white uniforms, I think they had stars on the shoulders (to show rank).

Does this ring a bell to any late 19th or early 20th century ship experts??

I know this is a long shot, but any help is appreciated

Do you remember if it was only 1 star with gold stripes next to it and was that on stiff shoulder boards?

Or was it ALL stars and NO stripes (usually Admirals), the white "dress" uniform usually denoted someone's Navy and was usually worn in the evenings.

Ghost of Gumby brings up a good point, it could have been a "military" Navy or a "civilian" navy type organization, like White Star, Cunard or even the Merchant Marine.

Best of Luck with your search.

Hi Sunniva, interesting dream, thanks for sharing :)

Unfortunately, there is a BIG list of ocean liners to choose from. You might be able to narrow that list down due to the fact that you remember speaking in English, but having said that, I know that many of the 'Trans-Atlantic' ships had multi national crews.

I don't know if the incident that you remember was serious enough to be documented, but here are a few of the more popular ships from that era that you might be able to research, and these are just the big ones : Lusitania, Mauretania, Kaiser Wilhelm Der Grosse, Kronprinzessen Cecilie, Olympic, Titanic, Britannic, Queen Mary and Normandie.

Sorry I can't be any more help, but I will do some Googling later, I love researching this stuff :)

Hi again,

Yeah well, based on one single dream it's probably not that easy to get information : angel I've been trying to focus on the dream to see if I could get further information, particularly what the 'incident' was. The thought that keeps popping into my head is that someone fell over board - whether by accident or suicide, I can't say.

Also, I got a name. The other night I couldn't sleep and I was laying in bed thinking about this. Now I can't remember the last name, but the first name came to me very clear 'Georgina B-something'. I half awake, half asleep I saw a woman's mouth pronounce the name very clearly (oh, why didn't I write it down??). I can't remember the last name now. I want to say 'Bates', but that probably just because I've been watching 'Downtown Abbey' : angel:D

I don't think I was related to any of the men in white uniforms (I can't remember details about the uniforms unfortunately). I think I was just being obnoxious, a spoiled, rich kid, who really didn't care about people below my class. That attitude is so far from my own, that it quite startled me - I'm quite left wing today and very concerned with solidarity, so it's rather alien for me to be so egoistic and show so little empathy toward people with fewer ressources than myself.

The dating. Well, I'm open-minded and although I have made a 'chronology' of my past lives it isn't absolute. However I believe it must have been before 1910. I'm supposed to have been reincarnated somewhere else in 1905 or 1907. Did something happen in 1901? That date has always had some unknown significance to me.

I'm very busy past life-wise in the 1800's, so it's hard to push in yet another life-time (unless we can have simultaneous lives). However it might be possible since I have no specific years on those other lives.

So obviously there is also a chance that this might not have been past life related at all, but as you all said, it points in that direction.

Sunniva, is it possible that this event fits in with one of your other past lives? It is always possible that your time line is off in one direction or the other. Is it possible that you were this young woman with a twin brother in this time period, late 19th to early 20th century?
