Triggered by a photograph?

Hi,
does anyone here believe or has experienced that a memory of a PL was triggered by a photograph? First of all, I´m very skeptical, I really don´t believe easily anything. My friends call me "rational" , but what they don´t know is that I´m very much into reincarnation research ever since I recognized myself on a picture. It was the strangest feeling, like having a fever, I couldn´t breathe... I was about 9 or 10 years old when I came across that photograph and it really blew my mind. It was in childrens book somebody had given to me for a present. I looked at the picture, at the face of that man and I just thought what a terrible photograph that was of me OMG cover face and that really really got me confused. I hadn´t heard about the possibility of reincarnation before. I had no idea what to make of it. When soon after that I got a flash back of my best friend at that time and me walking along a road, and me helping my dad in the local store as a young boy. And me playing baseball and then later as a grown up having that vision of being a family man with a son playing baseball with him. But that was only a vision, a wishful thinking I had when I was him??!! I´m female, so all of that just didn´t make much sense. I´d be happy about any comment! Thanx!

Hi Glia. Welcome to forum. It's possible that memory of PL is triggered by a photograph. I experienced it myself. I found photo of my PL and then I had flashes. Memories of past lives are emotional. I think that it was your past life. Flashes which you'll see are not fantasy. They can't come just so.

Hello and welcome! Photos can do many things to us; make us feel nostalgic, trigger memories and other associations.

If it's a published book, you should be able to find out something about the picture, hopefully, such as the photographer and so on and maybe that way you can start to validate your flash back.

Yes, I think, that it is possible. 'Thanks to' photos of SS-Reichsfuehrer Heinrich Himmler, I started to remember some facts of my life.

It's fine, that your memories are quite lucky :)

Although I never had any actual flashbacks of a past life, I did nevertheless experience something similar to what you described . Many years ago I came a cross a photo of someone which gave me cold shivers down my back; Instantly I could recognize my soul. Fortunately for me it was easy to unearth more information about this figure and what I uncovered only strengthened my belief in reincarnation.

Yes and Yes.

One photo I found told my story

of my past life I had. most pieces came together

after that. If one photo find makes you have

various emotions and some you feel

A connection when look at said picture then

look at yourself the answer you are looking for

might be staring right at you.

My experience has been the most overwhelming experiences

I have ever had in my life. to see myself

again from another life. Somebody I saw in mirror

now I see in full.

You can also upload the photo to a site then click on "search google images for more photos like this" or something similar and you might find even more information.

Good luck to you!

Many years ago I had a friend who saw a painting of someone, I'm thinking some nobleman of some sort from long ago. I wish I could remember his name. Anyway, she became obsessed that this was someone she had known and loved in a previous life. She was basically pining for him, missing him, writing poetry to him. At the time, even though I believed in reincarnation, I thought it was a little odd. But now I'm sure the picture did trigger a memory in her.

Thank you very much for your comments! I can´t talk about that with my friends and family, I feel so uncomfortable by keeping it all to myself, but every time I tried to start talking I kind of felt they wouldn´t get it and they indeed couldn´t connect and so I kept quiet. After I had those flash backs I did a lot of research, I read a lot of books but most of them where too esoteric for me. What really got me was the research studies of Ian Stevenson. When I got older by the age of 19 I travelled to the city where I felt I was bound to. It was a very interesting journey and odd things happened. Something inside of me is still not 100 percent convinced though since the person I identify myself with is not a completely unknown. .. cover face I can`t prove it to myself that is ;) because I know too much from the books

I thinks it´s funny you guys are much into WW2. I was born in Austria this time and live in Vienna, maybe I can help in any way  I`m more into the midwest though, the civil war and also the 1930ies :D

That's the good thing about this forum and frequently you'll find that aside from being in like company, many people here have similar experiences.

Reincarnation must becoming more popular in Germany now. If you search on YouTube for reinkarnation, with a "K", you will find many videos. Many are English videos with German subtitles.

Hey there, reincarnation doesn´t seem to be popular in Austria at all and neither in Germany, at least not in the every days life, I hear so many people saying "you only live once.. " that I´m always very close to tell them it´s just not true

I´m having a cool week though, I think it was a good idea to write down a few things here in the forum because I´m about to get the story straight. I´m at the beginning to understand a lot more things...

By the way, I really don´t know ANYONE who claims to believe in reincarnation in my area and that´s kind of hard because I think it would be helpful to sort out things. In fact the only one I was talking to was Professor Erlendur Haraldson from Iceland who is doing scientific research in Iceland. He was speaking about it once, about 10 years ago, at the university of Vienna.

I hear that here also. You could tell them it's not true, then just say, "You'll find out someday." Have you heard about James Leninger, the boy who remembers being a WWII pilot shot down in 1945. His father is an evangelical Christian who didn't believe in reincarnation. But his father decided to research what his son was saying on the internet. Everything turned out to be true. They located WWII veterans who knew the pilot who was shot down. The boy was taken to the veteran's reunion and identified several of the veterans by name when he saw them for the first time. He told his dad he recognized their voice. He also met the pilot's 90 year old sister and told her things that only she and her brother knew. His parents wrote a book called "Soul Survivor". It's been translated into about 16 languages around the world.

Yes, it was a photograph that made the final trigger, a photo of a pilot, that bumped in my screen, and i was hipnotized for some minutes... and those eyes, hipnotized-me... i recognized myself...

Welcome to the Forum 'glia21'

There are many discussions in the Forum regarding photographs serving as triggers to possible PL memories.

Some of the interesting stories involve seeing photographs of faces; hence AH-HA responses e.g.,possible triggers.

There is much discussion in the Forum of similar facial features carrying over from one life to the next.

Keep us posted on your experiences.

Marc

Thank you for the nice welcome!

Argonne 1918, I haven`t heard about the book "Soul Surviver" yet, but it sounds interesting, thank you! :)

Mark, the thing about facial features is a good point, I might look a bit like the person on the photograph :-) yeah I think I do. There happened to be a lot of coincidences too in my life that made me stay in touch with the idea of actually remembering and not making it all up. Most of all, what sense would it make to make it all up? Wouldn´t I´d rather want to be a famous author like Hemingway or F.Scott Fitzgerald or a movie star instead of a gangster? I sure would. :D

There was also a funny thing happening to me a month ago. I met a woman who lives now in an apartment where I used to live, she was carrying a baby, 7 months old. I´m usually not that much interested in babies but as we looked into each others eyes I had a warm feeling and had to smile and the little girl got crazy about me and almost jumped out of the baby sling and that surprised her mother. I thought that was a very strong reaction but of course nothing to draw conclusions  funny though. :D

Hi glia21

Welcome to the forum. Yep, it sure sounds like a past life flashback to me. It's more common than you might think.

I know what you mean that it's hard to talk to people about it, because mostly they simply won't believe you. But a lot of people here have had similar experiences to yours and understand what is going on.

Interesting about the baby. I wonder if she is someone you might have 'known before' or just a very friendly baby? Time will tell I guess.

Hey gila, welcome :) Yes I have had such a experience with portraits of Saint Peter and Jesus with Middle Eastern Skintones. Interestingly enough, the rest of the Apostles don't seem to allure me at all :/

Other than that, no pictures yet have struck me. So you are not alone
