Where Do We Reincarnate From?

What is the meaning of Heaven for Reincarnation? Is It the same as the Christian Heaven?
Is there a book I can buy specifically for learning all about reincarnation along with a few stories?

There are many books about reincarnation. I would find books written by Dr. Brian Weiss and Carol Bowman. A book called "Soul Survivor" by Andrea and Bruce Leninger is a true story about their son. There is also a list of recommended books here on this website.

Yes, there are many books on reincarnation. You will find a section in the forum here. Personally I always recommend 'Exploring Reincarnation' by Hans Ten Dam, a very thorough and no-nonsense overview of the whole topic. You can get it on Amazon.


Many different cultures have different conceptions of what happens in the 'after life' including different versions of 'heaven'. In my view, what they are describing is the 'other side' where souls abide in their disincarnate state. People who have had near death experiences often describe a feeling of great bliss and calm, and being greeted either by friends or relatives or sometimes a religious figure from their particular religion. I think this is probably where a lot of our understandings of heaven come from.

I think it depends on who you talk too but personally I think both Reincarnation, Spirits and Reincarnation is scientifically possible together.

I personally think that we have to find our own heaven; much as how we have to find meaning in our own lives.


If we look at heaven as a place outside of this world, then yes I think it exists; but not as we're told through religion.


I think that the point of existence is to be here, experiencing the world by learning, sharing and growing. Heaven or "the other side", for all intents and purposes, for me anyway, is like going back to the office.


You meet with the boss, let him know how you did, what issues you had, things you need, how things are going ect. You stop by the water cooler, talk to some co workers, maybe help out someone there with a project for a bit and then after a while, you're ready to hit the road again.


When most people speak of heaven, they're usually implying that they want to or expect to see their families again. And the truth is, this may or may not be possible over there as they may have reincarnated already! But given how pervasive and strong the bonds are in soul groups, we'll always see our family again, even if we are apart for a little while.

I always enjoy reading your posts, Totoro--great reply! I mainly agree with you, but I'll add one interesting tidbit on the issue of whether or not we'll be "reunited" with souls we've known in our physical life if they reincarnate before we "get back to the office."


Several books (including, I think, at least one of Michael Newton's books,) suggest that we are never 100% "here" or 100% "there." Some part of us may always remain "in the office," but its focus may be on a physical incarnation elsewhere. That may suggest that we are always able to reconnect with those we've known in life, whether or not their soul has moved on to a new incarnation.


To extend your wonderful analogy, they might not be hanging around the water cooler with the rest of the gang, but you can still poke your head in their office and give them a wave while they're talking on a conference call!

Crescent, I agree that we are never totally either here or there. I just wasn't sure to what degree or state we reside in (can we communicate & interact etc) on that side and I didn't want to say something I couldn't validate.


I really did enjoy Newton's though, they hit on several things I've known intuitively anyway. I think it's both interesting and frustrating that topics mentioned in Newton's books are acknowledged by science and well within the realm of it, but one is science, the other is religion or "spooky occult stuff".


I could go on and on about that, But I do like one quote in there from someone who said "who do you think nature is?"
