all dreams like that, or just some?

Koshka

the great
Vivid dreams with purely historical detail where I have a southern accent in it? 1920s cars, 1920s clothing, hair. A man screaming 'get off my property' at another man who has a gun, me running, a BOOM. The car was parked up halfway on the lawn.. green grass, dirt road. Brick house, seemingly suburban neighborhood. Suddenly everything goes dark. I wake up in my bed in Maine. Could some just be our imaginations? Or is a spirit showing me something just for fun?

This reminds me of the collective subconscious. Can we tap into the experiences of the dead?

The thing is- I've been thinking about Georgia a lot lately. Then I was told by a psychic yesterday that I might be interested in moving to Georgia. I googled '1920s women murdered front lawns' and I got something about men fighting over a woman in Coweta county Georgia in the 1920s. Anyone have any suggestions? Advice? Thoughts? Could this be a past life memory, or did my brain tap onto a dead wavelength? Sometimes I think I've done that before. I was staying in an old tenement building in New York and I heard what I know to be Italian when I was going to sleep- I don't speak it, but I know a few words. That might have been me just dreaming too..

Hi Koshka,

I wish that I could help to answer your questions; but, my own experience with dreams is that they are so confoundedly complicated and out of left field, that their origin and purpose is impossible to determine. A single dream sequence can be a composite that is simultaneously made up of our fears, experiences, fantasies, and psychic sensitivities all at the same time. Yet, once in a while, we will experience a dream that is fully grounded in a realistic and verifiable environment, which doesn't fit our present lifetime. I tend to believe that we own such memories and that we have not, somehow, psychically sensed someone else's experience. To the best of my knowledge, the best way to delve further into such a memory is to engage in further meditation and keep writing down everything until you have something concrete to research. If you research too soon, you may come across other information, which could incorporate itself into later dreams creating false memories.

Nighttrain1 is right about dreams, they are mainly products of a complicated brain that is very active at night solving problems encountered during the day.

But every now and then you remember a vivid dream that stands heads and shoulders above the more mundane, run of the mill dreams.

This vivid dream may or may not be related to a past life (PL), but examine the dream and dissect it to see if it stands the test of reason and logic.

The vast majority of my dreams fall into the mundane type of dreams, usually about my work before retirement, but every once in a while, a gem will show up.

I examine my dreams and one thing I use, is how does it feel to me, if I wake up with no feelings at all toward the dream, then it is probably not a PL dream.

Try keeping a dream log and see if a pattern develops in your dreams.

Two questions:

1. Is this a reoccuring dream?

2. Are you thinking about Georgia a lot because of this dream or is it something else?

Interestingly my sister lives in Coweta County, Georgia. I used to live there for a short time. I know that area pretty well.

I woke up with a raging headache from the back of my head. It went away though. I wasn't sad.. I felt suprised. Does that make sense?

I had a reading from my professor's brother in law- he's a well known psychic in the LA area- and he said something about me moving to Georgia. This was after I had this dream. I've been thinking a lot about the south lately, and I couldn't really tell you why.

Koshka, I've been through similar bouts of synchronous and mysterious dreams mixed with real-time events. I chose to simply accept them as guidance, figuring sooner or later I would grasp their meaning. It's part of my belief in Life: The Journey. I honestly believe that as we avail ourselves more to the spiritual world by accepting reincarnation, more and more of it will open up to us. Especially those things that are demanding to rise to the surface. We always talk about past life memories being highly emotional and quite common for scenarios of past passionate love, violent death etc. These tragedies and epic twin soul loves are a part of the core of our souls... thus it seems quite reasonable to me that they would surface in our current lives. Is your dream one of these? It certainly sounds like it to me. And I concur with Nighttrain about writing everything you can about it. Meditation is certainly an incredibly valid tool to use also. I think you would find it very useful and rewarding.

Good luck in your journey.
