When I was a kid, my mom would always rave on and on about how much she loved India and indian things. She would buy blouses that said ''Made in India'' and bracelets. She loves elephants and so would collect elephant knick knacks that she put everywhere in her room. My mom is not a hippie or from California. She's not well-educated and has never travelled anywhere at all so, that love for India does not necessarily has a clear origin.
I also love India and read books on the religion and customs when I was a kid and later on. When I was 10, I wanted to live in India and be an actress and a writer but was worried about the quality of steaks being sold there!
Almost ten years ago, I met a man who became my boyfriend. We were attracted to each other from the get go. My boyfriend had a hindu friend whom I met at the very beginning of our relationship. As soon as I met him, I felt very at ease in his presence. My boyfriend and the hindu friend were close. I was never close with the friend but I liked him very much. My boyfriend and I went to his wedding dressed the indian way (we were the only non-indians to do that at the wedding). My boyfriend and I had a very intense relationship for many years but eventually, he became sick and died.
At his deathbed, the friend said a hindu prayer (although my boyfriend was not a hindu). I closed my eyes and felt very calm and as if all this had happened before. I so liked the language in the prayer I bought a book of sanskrit.
After my boyfriend death I had all kinds of vivid dreams and in one of them, I saw a woman dressed in an orange saree who was sitting by a dying man while covering part of her face. I felt I was that woman. Beside me was another man who may have been either my brother, my brother-in-law or my husband.
I often have the impression that my dead boyfriend, his friend, my mother, possibly other people and I are involved together in the same incarnation and have known each other before in India. I also feel the relationship with my boyfriend was particular in a way that not all romantic relationships are, in the sense that it was intense, brought a lot of pain, and that it was an important learning experience in many, many ways.
And so, now, I am reading everything on dying, near-death experience, reincarnation and feeling that there may be answers for me in that possible past life. I'd like to get a past life regression and I eventually will but for now, I don't have the money for it. I just keep reading and reading and thinking about it and recording my dreams until I can understand why I had that intense experience and those impressions.
