Hello everyone!
This is my first post; I’ve been reading on this forum for a while now, there’s so many fascinating stories posted here every day, many of which I can personally relate to - I just had to join! I thought I’d start with introducing myself. My mom, brother & I have had many past life and other experiences.
My mom has several past life memories; my brother (15 years old) has memories of 7 different lives in great detail. At age 17, I vividly remember 9 individual past lives, so far. I also remember briefly life between lives, (choosing my mother for this life).
Though we’ve had many past life experiences; none of us have had personal regressions – yet. So far, me & my brothers past lives have been remembered mostly through visual flashbacks that were triggered by something, as well as amazingly vivid dreams that were just as powerful. I’ve read that most children slow or stop ‘remembering’ by the age of about 8-10; this hasn’t proved true for my brother & me. We started telling our parents about our past lives by the age of 3, and are still going strong. We don't remember more past lives very often, maybe once to twice a year, though they are never forgotten afterwards…
I look forward to sharing our continuing stories and questions here in the near future. Both my parent’s entire sides of the family do not believe in reincarnation, just us, so it will be nice to share with others who have had so many similar experiences!

Amy

Welcome Amy, I'm looking forward to reading about your experiences! :)

ChrisR,

I must say that I read your entire web page about Lisbet. I found it not only fascinating, but very moving. I do not remember a life from that area, but I do remember dying as a young (about 12 yr. old) girl. I was also alone in the end, it's tough to be left all alone like that...I to, had guilt carry over, but for different reasons then you.

I love how you honored her, since she doesn't have a marked grave, (neither do I), by giving her a memorial with your webpage. Your pictures are fantastic, and I loved reading about your research and validations!

Seeing it makes me want to do more research and do my own page...A little at a time. I think because of your example, I will.

My memories of that life surfaced the strongest when I was about 11-12 in this life, though I can still see/feel them like they just happened yesterday at times. What about you?

Thank you for sharing,

Amy

Hi Amy,

Thanks very much for reading my website, and your kind words. I'm happy that you enjoyed reading about Lisbet.

I would highly recommend creating your own website - not only is it a great way to pay tribute to somebody who is very much a part of you, it can also be an extremely therapeutic experience, it can even provoke further memories to come to the surface.

Whether you decide to share through your own webpage, or here in the forum, I'm looking forward to reading about your past lives, if you don't mind sharing that is.

Chris :)

Amy, welcome to the forum and glad to have here with us. Looking forward to what you have to share with us here. Wishing You the Best!

I am not afraid at all to talk about or share my past lives here. I don't share my experiences with very many people, not out of shyness, but because they are so personal, and very few understand. However, I am thrilled to have found so many more like minded people here! I find that talking about the past brings healing. I love remembering new details about my past lives, and will enjoy sharing them with you all on this wonderful forum!

Thanks ~

and I've come home here because I had a feeling that someone here has a message meant for me.

I'll know it when I see it, but feel free to post it just the same.

Well I hope you find your message...all I can tell you is my son is a starchild and if he says anything interesting I will pass it on. Welcome back.

Hi Starchild!

Although you may be looking for a specific message regarding something that has your attention in the present moment, I suspect that the real message is buried within numerous posts on this forum. "Seek and ye shall find" is more than scripture and religious dogma. It is the means by which we find whatever it is we seek, whether momentary relief from pain and anxiety, or long-term hope for the meaning of life.

Once many years ago, when I was obsessing on the incongruities of living in this world, I silently but consciously asked for a simple message that would help me to deal with the deaths of loved ones and the frustration of being powerless to help others still alive. Seconds after asking, I received an almost audible one word reply, "Read!". Just that one word -- nothing more. I was startled enough to go to the public library the next day and picked up the Ian Stevenson book, "20 Cases suggestive of Reincarnation", and I've been reading ever since.

It was a simple one-word message that lead to a continuing lifelong pursuit -- one which will likely never end. So, I would say that, while there are no easy answers, there may be simple messages which provide the initial direction for a path that never ends. Stay focused on the deeper questions without allowing everyday issues distract you.

So nice to see you again starchild. It's been ten years! Welcome back. Here is a quote by Steve Jobs....I posted it on facebook - perhaps you/people will enjoy it here too.

“Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."-Steve Jobs

Hello everyone

I used to post here a lot in the beginning when I was discovering the abilities and memories of my children. Then I was reunited with a person that I have spent many lifetimes with and my life took some very strange twists and turns. It took a very long time (8 or so years) for me to discover how truly toxic his presence is in my life and I have finally distanced myself from him.

I guess the biggest lesson I have learned is that not all past life loves are meant to be repeated.

Over the past couple of weeks I have found myself pulled to this site and even sent a few friends here to help them understand reincarnation.

The amazing people on this site were here when I was just beginning my journey with all that is metaphysical, paranormal and reincarnation. They kept me sane at one of the most insane times of my life and helped me to understand that just because most people do not experience things as we do does not mean they are not real.

The past almost decade has, with the exception of one person, been full of amazement. Maybe I can help others whose children are just beginning the road I have been travelling with my daughters.

I know the rules around here have changed and I need to catch up but wanted to say "Hello!" I see many of the same names are still here.

<< Extends hand with a smile and a friendly "Hello!"

Hi Starchild,

I, too, have been drawn back here. Perhaps there are more returning? Best wishes in discovering your message. I, too, am trying to figure out why my journey has brought me here ... and at the same time I am very glad it did.

Hello everyone..

I've been reading on past life for some time, a year and counting, it still instills a lot mysteries inside of me by some gradually developed and accumulated unanswered questions I have in mind over the experiences I have and had.

What worried me is if we are really looking for an answer that can be answered, hence we persevere; or we are looking for something to believe which is mystical.

The former can be self-enlarging which is considered positive, but the latter can be arisen from fear we have and therefore keep hoping for something that cannot be proven, like we say does God exists? it also can't be disproved.

I'm a dude, in my 20s.

welcome. dude.

I'd wager to think the answer is more simple than people manage to realize. We all need to find our own reasons for living, in this life and others.

I believe ultimately it's a personal journey and not something that can be found elsewhere.

Hi Love, welcome to the forum :)

That's a good question and I don't think there is a correct way to answer it to be honest. I guess it all depends on the individual, and his or her reasons for seeking an answer. I don't think it's possible to prove reincarnation happens without some kind of experimentation, which would be extremely difficult, but not impossible. Other than that, all we can do is speculate.

But for those who have had experiences with past life memories, and we are all capable of remembering our past lives, I think there is no need for proof, as the answer to the question lays within our hearts. I have no doubt that for many people, reincarnation is merely something to hope for, something to cling on to in the fear of death, but for me personally, and for many others here, reincarnation is very real, and it does happen. All you can do is read through the experiences and judge for yourself, or maybe even try to discover your own past lives.

Hope you enjoy it here, and just fire away with any questions that you have and we'll do our best to help.

Chris :)

Hi Love and welcome to the forum!

We definitely don't have solid proof for the paranormal in general, that's for sure. However, in relation to reincarnation, there are so many cases of children remembering past lives that its too amazing to write off. And just think of all the unreported cases that are bound to be happening all the time, all over the world. Surely not all of them can be due to their imaginations. Also, the amount of information that has been verified is mind blowing.

Personally, I haven't had any past life memories or anything that I could call personal proof. I do, however, love to hear other peoples experiences. Unfortunately, not everyone remembers their past lives. I believe that people only remember theirs for a reason. So in many ways, its a gift!

Hi there, thanks guys.

I brought home some Buddhism books from a temple today.

One which I read first -- It's called "The Cause And Effect Sutra", I am copying some of its contents and post here to share:

Effect:

Why in this life you have cars and various transportation facilities?

Cause:

Because you have repaired broken bridges and paved roads for the benefit of others in your previous life.

Effect:

Why in this life you have clothing in great variety?

Cause:

Because you have donated warm clothing to monks.

Effect:

Why in this life you have splendid food?

Cause:

Because you have donated food to the poor in your previous life.

Effect:

Why in this life you are starving and clothes less?

Cause:

Because you were too stingy to donate to charity in your previous life.

----

I'm stopping here at the moment. At reaching the final few pages, there's this that interests me more:

The Buddha Says:

To understand your previous life,

Look at what you have in your present life.

To have a preview of your next life,

Examine your daily act in this life.

----

It's a small little book which one can finish it in 30 minutes.

So what makes us cling to believe there is a past life for each and everyone of us?

I think what Buddhism teaches is Past life exists but we would not really know or find out who we were, we may know the conditions we were before, perhaps, but to go into details who we really were, I think it is not so possible. Maybe possible? I hope so, I think I know, but unsure. What worries me most is could we all need psychiatric treatment?

I've found plenty of details that to me at least, prove without a doubt who i was in my most recent previous life.

For me, being able to read details about this persons life and they issues they faced have really helped me understand how they affect me in this one and why I respond the way I do events and circumstances.

I don't believe in grand schemes of karmic cycles or rewards and punishments, but quite obviously, negative behaviors and choices lead to poor results while positive ones reap better rewards. Quite often as well, things happen beyond our control that also alter our frames of mind.

I think that this constitutes the bulk of what's transferred between the lifetimes and learning how to cope and adjust with it, in this life and previous / successive ones, is just something we all have to deal with.

Psychiatric treatment? No I don't need any. Although therapy isn't a bad thing when it's used help you understand why you make decisions the way you do.

But I think that this stuff is the "norm" and recognizing it doesn't make one crazy at all.

I think what is most appealing to me about Reincarnation is the idea of choice and free will -- the idea that we pick our own situation according to what we wish to experience, or learn. One life has never seemed to be nearly enough. The idea of cause and effect is important, but I don't think that it exists so much without our own control. Deep down inside I think we all sense that if we abuse it, we will loose it -- the "it" being whatever we wish to obtain or become.

The problem arises, I think, when people are misled into believing that they have only one very short lifetime to achieve "it". Frustration and judgment quickly sets in, and hedonistic self-centeredness becomes a driving force, which, when achieved seems hollow, and when out of reach causes others to become self-destructive and pathological.

The correct path to understanding Reincarnation is one, I believe, which leads to patience and peace of mind and away from the need for therapy.

Sorry but I don't really understand what you mean. It seems to me believing in Past life and not exactly in Buddhism is some sort of a cult-like religion.

I have only started to begin reading Buddhism recently and found it gave answers to most of my questions. But I don't understand why if you believe in past life, and don't exactly have a root to trace back, it seems to me shallow.

What free choice and will do you mean? Do you believe each of us has the power to override our kamma?

Sorry hope I didn't sound offensive.

It's about education and thanks for sharing.
