Past Life Confusion!!

This will probably be a long post.

Things have been challenging for me this lifetime. Usually when I tell my life story, I get a speechless face, or the ever so uplifting comment, "Wow! I'm surprised you're not a drug addict or living on the streets now!"

I'll save you the details of the abuse I endured as a child, but I'll say: I didn't know I was allowed to pee when I had to til I was 18. I didn't realize how much I was effected by my abuse til I was 23, looking in my fridge one day, so distraught, hungry, and closing the door of the fridge. I said to myself, "You're allowed to eat the grapes!" and that was when I realized I'm allowed to eat when I'm hungry. I was forced to learn as a kid not to listen to my natural instincts.

I have some issues in life, but I've got an excellent mind and a lot of resiliency, I've managed to keep my neck above the water. I've utilized psychiatrists and counsellors over the years, but I've found them limiting. It's difficult to find people to discuss things with who want to take reincarnation into their approach!

It was a WWII life that seems to be haunting me forever, and I don't know what to do anymore!!!!

I always felt that the whole world is my brotherhood, to the very core of my being. I don't care who you are or where your from, but I am sensitive to people's troubles to no end. I can't watch the news because the images of homicide and devastation everywhere makes it hard for me to accept this is the planet I live on. And somewhere in me, I feel like a past life of mine was filled with terrible trauma that impacted humanity, and I want to love every one so much for whatever happened that makes me feel this way. I think I was some sort of genetic experiment for Hitler's army, or something equally as sinister, and I cannot shake this feeling. It makes me feel like my heart is throwing up in itself :( By the time I was in the 10th grade, I was excused from most Social Studies assignments and was given other projects to work on insteading of attending class on days that WWII was discussed, I was considered a 'Modern Day Conscientious Objector' and the school was kind enough to recognize how traumatizing the classes were for me. I would tear up and start telling my classmates how war is never okay, and they couldn't comprehend the horror from just reading the textbook (though I clearly did, and I never watched war movies either, eeeeeeeh! i think i'm actually getting a little upset right now, writing this)...

...so. In this lifetime I am living with an eating disorder, which I manage okay most of the time, but I know it has it's roots somewhere in wartimes, not just this lifetime. I have an extremely strong aversion to the sound of people chewing (and you have no idea how relieved I was a few years ago when I discovered Selective Sound Sensitivity Syndrome, even though I can't find a professional who's willing to look it up or treat it). I cannot freaking stand the sound of people chewing and it's actually impairing my life right now. I just started going to college this year, and when people are eating chips or carrot sticks in the classroom, I go mental. I start sweating so bad it will pool down my arm and drip onto the floor, and if I don't do something to distract myself, I get these gruesome images of... bad images like I have seen in Holocaust photos! I've had hearing tests and apparently everything is fine, and I've even gone for testing for certain mental disorders because I have been worried about my brain chemistry! Medication was no help. For those who hate nails on a chalkboard, just imagine this a thousand times worse.

I have had this unique characteristic since I was a kid. As long as I can remember, I excuse myself from a table if people are eating and try to hide in the bathroom for as long as possible to get away from the sounds. I'm so sensitive to chewing sounds, I can hear them down hallways and from behind closed doors. I realize this sounds a little absurd... and it is! Trust me, I live with it. When I used to work retail jobs, I absolutely couldn't stand dealing with customers who chew gum, and would do anything possible to get away from the customer and off the sales floor.

What I am getting to (thanks for following if you still are) is that I know this quirk comes from something to do with another life. Whether I was starved and people were able to eat around me, I don't know. But I know it goes back to that life and there seems to be no route to curing this for me. It's driving me batty.

How do you deal with a horrific past life that you don't really want to revisit? I'd like to gain some sort of knowledge on how to deal with something that I only know the effect of, not the cause.

Any insights? Ideas?

Thank you so much :)

Past Life issues carrying over to Present

Smickle, hello! I'm a new member to this forum, and was only recently "enlightened" by reading Dr. Michael Newton's book, "Journey of Souls," so I'm not very experienced here. I hope others join in here with their input! The focus of your post seems to be severe deprivation and limitation. You say,

I think I was some sort of genetic experiment for Hitler's army, or something equally as sinister, and I cannot shake this feeling.
You're probably spot on with your hunch. Have you read any of Dr. Newton or Carol Bowman's books? You may find that doing a Past Life Regression would enable you to safely explore past lives, seeking the experience(s) that so affected you that you have confusion and torment in your current life. I have not YET had a regression session, but look forward to doing so in the very near future. It's my understanding that such a session can assist you with recognizing connections, (cause and effect,) between the past and present lives and (hopefully,) you can take away an understanding of the "how and why." For what it's worth, Smickle, reading what you've endured and what you suspect you experienced in a past life, I think you should give yourself a lot of credit for reaching this point! You're a sympathetic and compassionate person. I hope to see more from you soon, Smickle!

Hello “smickle” and welcome to the Past Life Forum, a non-judgmental place where you can come and feel safe from criticism and judgment, and above all to feel welcome here amongst like minded individuals.

As “Wordfisher” has mentioned already, IMHO, it is very possible that performing a Past Life Regression might very well allow these issues to be put to rest, once and for all, by confronting your fears, working through them and finally conquering them.

If you do a Past Life Regression, then please let us know the outcome and whether it helped you or not and let us hope that it will be a success! :)

Welcome to the forum smickle, and thanks for sharing your story. I agree with hydrolad and Wordfisher (welcome Wordfisher). I think you would benefit a great deal from past life regression therapy. There's nothing really to fear in facing past life trauma, just like any memory, they can't do any physical harm to you, and both you and the therapist are always in control. It's a bit like dipping your toe in the bath ... if the water is too hot, then you pull it out, just as the therapist can pull you out of a traumatic memory if it is too much for you to handle.

I think I was some sort of genetic experiment for Hitler's army, or something equally as sinister.

Hello! I think I may help you with that one.. Are you familiar with Dr. Josef Mengele?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josef_Mengele (Warning; look at your own risk it might be traumatizing) He conducted very inhumane experiments to children and the like (Especially twins, dwarfs..etc) at Auschwitz so you may be a few of his unfortunate victims.. But then again, doing a regression may give you the correct answer and help you through this.. Hope this helps and good luck!

Hi Smickle, and welcome to the Forum!

I don't know whether you've heard of Dr. Brian Weiss, but he is a practicing Psychiatrist who accidentally discovered the therapeutic value of past life regression in 1980. As a result of his discovery and his ensuing books on the subject, a whole new branch of psychiatry has been spawned based on the proven theory that we can often reach and cure our present problems, obsessions, and fears by reaching back to the events which may have caused these conditions. He was nearly sanctioned for his efforts had it not been shown that his techniques actually seemed to work.

Carol Bowman has a page on this website, which helps to explain the process, and will also provide additional information on how to find qualified therapists in your area.

Please continue asking questions, and do take advantage of the many resources available in this Forum. Best of luck to you!

thank you :)

I feel so touched!

Thank you every one for your replies :)

I live in a very rural part of the country, the nearest major city is 7 hours away. I will definitely look into finding a Past Life Regressionist ... any one happen to know of anyone in Western Canada?

I decided to look into that link on Mengele! I braced myself first. It was pretty emotional to read, my heart just ties itself into knots!

I will look into Brian Weiss! I've always wanted to read Carol's books, now might be a good time to get 'em!

Thank you again for your support!!! It really means a lot to me #G^H

There's a couple in Vancouver here.

Hello Smickle and welcome to the forum!

Thank you for sharing your story. I'm sorry to hear of your childhood traumas. I hope you will get closer to understanding why you feel the way you do. I can only recommend going to a past life therapist.

I found this thread which may be helpful to you: Irrational Phobias

:)

Hello, Smickle

Thanks for sharing your story and hopefully you will find a way to reach some answers. It is so puzzling that you are adversely affected by the chewing sounds but apparently not by other sounds from what you said, so it does not seem like a sensory problem in which sounds are amplified.

I agree that a past life regression or at least some recovered memory therapy may bring the reason for this to the surface. My first thought was that you may have been around a person or an animal in this life or a past life who had caused you or your loved ones much pain, and this pain so unbearable that it left you with such a negative chewing association.

Hi smickle welcome to the forum. I just find it rather sad that you have had 2 lives with so much pain and suffering. Is there any reason you feel your soul undertakes such huge challenges?

Despite your obstacles you seem to be a pretty good human being with a positive outlook on life. I wish you well on your search.

Thanks to everyone who replied to this thread over the past couple months!!

I have yet to see a Past Life Regressionist...

... I DID find out, however, that I am not the only person with a sound sensitivity to chewing - there is a condition called Misophonia, and I have been in touch with another individual regarding this. Going for a brain scan in a few weeks to see if there are some present medical clues to what's going on... but know what seeing a PLR would definitely help me more ;)

Just wanted to publicly thank Obie for the last post - what an excellent question!! I can feel an answer inside but I'm not quite sure what it is yet... but thank you for asking that.

Hugs,

Smickle
