Past Life Flashbacks - Various Members

Hi Ladylania,

Thanks for sharing! What a gruesome dream though. It's hard to find out where it took place, however I will say that my first thought was somewhere in Centraleurope, mainly Hungary or Romania. What makes me think of these two countries in particular are the stories of crazy rulers, who killed people in the most awful and gruesome ways back in medieval times. Particularly the turks had a very difficult time there, but there are also other stories where regular people were victims of the most horrible crimes.

But as Tanguerra said, many people all over the world got up to terrible things when it came to taking lives.

I hope you feel up to doing a bit of meditation on your dream. I'm quite intrigued by it and look forward to updates :)

Hello Vicky....I hope you are still reading this thread. I lurked for a long time before I was able to register (webtv) I loved reading your posts about your experiences with your son. I also loved to read the posts of Curious_girl and Moondansyr.

Where has everyone gone?? I want you all to come back!! grin.....

I want babyM to post again and tell us all how her little "Fireman" is doing. I can still picture him in my mind telling the firemen at the fire station that he also was a fireman...and of course, he was.

Hi all!

Lady Lania, what a frightening dream. I really don't have any aditional information to offer - I too would say that this kind of gruesome behaviour has been seen all around the world unfortunately... :(

Do you have any more details you would like to share?

A very clean desk

Well, my turn to share.

Yesterday I was looking at the TV and there was this image of someone opening a book over an otherwise empty desk. Suddenly I had a strong flashback - like I got sucked away into myself in another place and time, with feelings, sounds, textures, everything. So powerful.

I was opening a book, or some sort of file, over an empty desk. My own desk.

I know I cleared it for the occasion - so that when I opened the book there would be no clutter and no mess around me. It's not quite as if I felt the occasion was somehow solemn (although it was, a little, in some weird way), it was more like I was getting ready to do something difficult and needed to have everything tidy and under control (I can relate to that feeling in this life...) before getting to it.

I know I took solace in the task of clearing the desk - both because it presented an opportunity to delay an inevitability for a while (knowing what's in the book) and because the motions made me feel calmer.

I was opening a book that I was not supposed to, or in some way I was getting information that I was not entirely entitled to access. I also know that this information was of great significance to me - I held my breath just before opening the book, knowing that probably my life would change after knowing what was in it.

I have no idea what's in the book. None. It was a peculiar feeling, being in that place. I think I was a man, but I can't be entirely sure - everything was so brief.

One thing I am sure - I have never, in this life, been in such a situation, and last night, I was instantly "there". wow.:cool

If I had to choose a date I would say more recent.

Between 1930-s-1960's (?????????)

Thanks Lara
Hey I have the same problem!!!! I can't imagine when my PL (I believe so  ) is happened. Sometime I feel it's around 30's or 40's. But also feel like it's in 70's. I'm confused here:mad:

I don't know if this counts as a flashback, but it is strange. My family immigrated from Ireland on my father's side back in colonial times. When I was camping in the Blue Ridge mountains I heard what could be described as a Bean Sidhe. A moaning woman, speaking in another language that sounded Celtic. She was repeating the phrase Tir Nan Og Tir Nan Og and then maybe Tuatha De Dannan. I can remember it well, but it has not happened again.

I've had one flashback when I was in an antique store and looked at the face of a porcelain doll, I suddenly completely blanked out of the store and was in another place. I remember I was a baby and then I was other places. Then someone ran and turned on a lightswitch (in my head) and I woke up out of my trance. But it was really really wild. That also has never really happened again.

Both happened when I was a young teen.

But I do get de ja vu and feel connections to certain languages and places. The kaballah, celtic names and fairies, and the mystical.

I wish I could make myself remember my past life, but I believe that we must forget for a reason....so maybe it'll come to me eventually. Or are there ways to get yourself in a better state to recall past lives?

A little while ago I had a flash, when I was about to fall asleep. First I saw a young girl riding behind a boy on a motorcycle. Then I had these feelings, "knowings", of for example being close to another girl, probably a sister, and our family, in turn, being close to another family with boys our age.

Then I was talking to a grown woman, being younger than she was, and she was with her daughter, who was a teenager. I was older than the daughter, and I and my sister (?) were asking the daughter if she also went to a certain school. We said a name of the school that consisted of two words that sounded like Hebrew, and the first word began with an "H". We had gone to that school, and we had also some funny, "joke version" of the school's name that the young girl also knew. She was shy, though, almost hiding behind her mother's back.

I had a feeling of the East coast of America, but also of beach and piers. Googling I found Chabad Neshama Hebrew School of Manhattan Beach, in Brooklyn, NYC. I believe "chabad" is/can be pronounced so that it sounds like it begins with an "H". It sounds very right compared to what I heard in my dream. Also the area fits the image I had in my head.

The only thing is that I'm not sure if this was a past life flashback, because I think the style of the people's clothes and hair was from the 1980's, and I was born in the 1970's. I'm not positive, though. Shoot. q6gif

I have several snippets I can share...

#1 - A door step covered in a thick layer of what looked like "dirty snow" but I knew it was ashes.

#2 - Standing next to a podium of some sort. It was really tall or I was really close because I could not see who was speaking.

#3 - A glimpse of a man with a huge gaping wound in the chest, wearing dark colored clothes.

In the flash (or dream), I have had it multiple times I am being swallowed alive by a huge snake. I picture the pathway that was behind my childhood home.

To this day I have a snake phobia, not just a fear of snakes.

I was once attempting to concentrate on my memories, when there was a flash and a view of myself from behind. I was a young woman, in a dark alley in a big city, around 1920s. I got the name Elizabeth and that was it. Im not sure if it counts but thats what Ive got

here's a quick one of mine

Male, rowing a small boat to shore, leaping of out the small boat into the surf. Was with several other men. Turned to look back at the ship we just came from. A large sailing ship. Lean, graceful, sails were furled but not taken off the masts.

a recent flash I had was of a canal with a dirt track on one side and bushes and green fields all around, all lit by bright sunshine. A young boy, maybe 7 years old, wearing smart clothes (waistcoat, shirt and breeches), but barefoot, is running along the canal track. His hair is dark and shoulder-length, flowing behind him as he runs. Feels like the Regency era, but can't be sure.

Are there irrigation canals in England, helz? I just remembered "The Wind in the Willows". I guess there were! Are they pervasive, or in certain areas?

Oh we have canals all over the UK Briar! There are irrigation ones in some areas, but the majority were built for cargo transportation during the Industrial Revolution, with heavy cargo boats pulled by heavy horses, linking the industrial and manufacturing centres with the cities and ports. Their importance was mostly overtaken by the rail network in the Victorian era, but are still used extensively for recreation. Now I think of it, a narrow-boat holiday on the canals is something I've always fancied, maybe there's a connection there!

That does sound rather wonderful. I do remember an episode of "Keeping Up Appearances", where Hyacinth fell into a canal. That would probably happen to me, if I engaged in "riparian entertainments", as she was fond of saying. In Southern California, we have a town that was built with recreational canals. It's called "Venice", after the original. I always thought it was quite a curiosity. Do people fall in canals in England, and need to be rescued? Every time it rains here, people and their dogs fall into the Los Angeles River, which is usually dry.

Do you thing that you worked as a bargeman?

I read a paperback book many years ago about a Dutch psychic who was good at locating missing children. It seems that before the 1960's or 70's not many Dutch children were taught how to swim. With so much water around them that was disastrous. Many of the missing children turned out to be drowning victims. Where I live there are irrigation canals everywhere. Many canals Cris-cross the city where farms used to be. When I was a child there would be several drownings in the canals every summer.

More than likely, people must fall into canals all the time (especially on Friday nights!) as the towpaths rarely have barriers, but it’s rarely reported on the news unless there is serious injury or a fatality. Just walking alongside them though makes you feel a bit like you’ll fall in just by looking at the water!

As for the boy, I’m still thinking about him and wondering. It all depends on date really, as I’m pretty sure I know where I was around 1790-1810 (a young lad working on the stagecoaches), and this feels like a different life to that one. Not even sure if I was the boy, or if I was a female guardian/mother, the impressions I get are always from the ‘outside’. He wasn’t of bargeman stock though, he was the son of a wealthy family (I want to say in Derbyshire), who had a canal pass through or around the edge of their land; he spent a lot of time down at the canal, hanging around with the bargemen and their horses. My first instinct actually was a little panicked ‘oh no, he’s not a bargeman!’; probably his family were none too keen on his spending time down at the canal with the working classes

Do local pleasure boats use the canals today? The famous Erie Canal (aka New York State Barge Canal) still exists today, but without commercial traffic.

Yes Argonne, the canals are mostly used for pleasure and recreation now, although some companies are trying to use the canals more for transporting goods as it is a very environmentally friendly way to transport heavy loads. There is something very nostalgic about seeing a goods-laden barge being pulled by a shire horse

I've seen bits of a life I may have had during the Regency, but it was in Cheltenham, helz. At least, that city figured prominently. I was an upper-class woman, and horse racing seems to have been an interest, although that seems strange. If you were an upper-class boy, I'm sure your family would have been appalled at your interests. Do you think the horses were the attraction, or the bargemen themselves? I wonder if the boy himself was drawn there because he had a PL as a bargeman?

Horseracing was really big in the Georgian and Regency eras, that was when Stubbs was painting all his racehorse pictures, so an interest is perfectly normal for the time period! Am going to try meditating on the image of the boy and the bargemen, hopefully I'll be able to determine if I was him or a relative, still not sure! If I get enough maybe I'll start a new thread :)

The horse racing comment reminded me of a recent glimpse, though I'm still not sure what was going on.

I was on my back looking up into a gorgeous, blue sky ... when suddenly HORSES! right over me. I sat up in surprise and turned to come face to nose with a jumping equine ... Aaah!

At first I thought it was an attack because I nearly fell out of the meditation in my surprise, but I now think it was a race or a hunting party based on how "I" reacted. *shrug* I just ducked down so they all jumped over me. I was behind a ditch/wall of some sort, so they didn't see me and galloped off.

The last of the group fell. His horse stumbled and was badly injured, I think. Somehow the horse fell on top of the rider, and I was urgently trying to get to this stranger, who was somewhat protected by having fallen into a hollow so he wasn't completely crushed.

Then I felt like he was very important to me, and I couldn't see anything more. *sigh*

I am very inexperienced in all the beliefs in past life regression. I would like to relate an experience i had, to see if anyone could give me some feedback.
I got a past life regression CD, and tried it. I saw images from the year(I think) of October, 16, 1656. There was a settlement high on a mountain, with a fort. The people were dressed as (Quaker), comes to mind. There was a petite, very fair haired , fair skinned girl there. There was a (raid?) or something that day, and her new husband, who was much older than her shot her accidently, because the gun he was using looked like a horn. The feeling I got was very salt of the earth kind of people, very religious. There was a river down below the settlement, and the house were she lived, was so the river could be seen. I beleive this was in America. This bothered me several days after, I kept seeing her face, and the visions of dried out timothy weeds, blowing in the sun. I have done 2 more regressions, but haven't had any more visions of these people. Is this unusual, to only see theings once. I dont know if this was real, or imaginary. I know I was shocked to wind up in a place I never heard of,(New Sweden?) I have always been drawn to the Titanic, Civil War, Tudor England, Ancient Egypt. I thought I might visit those places, but saw this. Any ideas?

Thanks

Suebee
Just wanted to say that every flash of something I have had with a PLR CD were different times / places / lives. I don't know if it's common or if what I saw was truly a past life, but I think I've had about 6 or 7 of them so far. They seem real, but who knows.

This is perfectly normal. This is what you should expect. We all have hundreds or even thousands of lifetimes. Keep a journal and write everything down. Later you may see a pattern.

Horses are still dangerous. That's how Christopher Reeves (Superman) was paralyzed.
Yeah, horrible accidents happen around pretty much anything that is large and can move on its own. Since people frequently rode horses in the past, they played a primary role in the accidents.

I find it interesting to observe the specific type of transport or activity people select to set apart as especially dangerous. Now I wonder if that reflects PL trauma?

I don't feel a strong concern over horses. If anything, they can avoid accidents by using their own awareness, unlike machinery. On the other hand, anything sharp makes me very, very nervous. I never let the kids stand close when I'm holding a knife and it always takes a bit of courage to cut things up for dinner.

My mom would be extremely antagonistic to the idea of past lives, so I simply asked her if I used to have nightmares as a child or something and got the whole family talking about dreams and such a couple weeks ago.

I think mom's past life involved escaping German soldiers. She said she has always had horrible, vivid nightmares of being pursued and hiding.

She grew up in Canada and her father was a missionary on a remote reservation, so there was never anything in her life that would have triggered such nightmares. Her explanation for it was that her mom must have made her think about it by talking about such things in her hearing.

It is interesting you remember the boy running along the canal in a happy, playful sort of mode.

We have a convergence of several canals and canal basins in our little town. Initially, especially in the country areas, they were nice places to walk alongside. Later on, as the industrial revolution expanded, their atmosphere changed, acquiring a more rough and dangerous disposition. That atmosphere is still pervasive in some parts of the system today, although, as Helz said, various tourist boat companies, and those seeking alternative lifestyles have started a change and re-freshen-up/re-imaging of the canals and canal-boat lifestyle.

Canal Boat Model Pictures

Here are photos of a Canal Boat Model recently purchased for the NPS. The model was built around 1875 by a former canal boatman and it represents a typical bulk cargo boat of the mid-19th century from eastern Pennsylvania.

I've never meditated myself, nor have I yet had a regression, but the other week as I was dozing I had a very brief, extremely vivid vision of standing in a green field with very tall, whispy, flowing grass that had to have been at least up to my waist. It was wonderfully sunny, and in front of me there seemed to be a large wall of low branched trees that were a brilliant shade of lush green. The image was so vivid I could practically feel the breeze! But it was only for a moment or two and I was somewhat upset when I woke to find myself in my room.
