I apologize before hand if anyone thinks I am crazy. I think I am a little crazy too - even writing this, so it is OK if you think so too... Ok here I go:
There is "something" that has more or less been around me for years now. Things happen now and then. I don't know what to call it - ghost perhaps?
The last couple of years or so, maybe longer, things happen now and then that I have a difficult time trying to explain to my child are nothing, yet I find myself trying - just want her to feel safe, right? We all just sort of ignore it - even as the sounds are not easy to ignore. At first I thought that perhaps I am the only one hearing it so I better not say anything, but then the rest of the family went "What was that?!". The sounds of things being thrown - like porcelain of a kind to the floor and breaking is one sound. Then you go down and you inspect every room - but nothing is laying there on the floor, broken. I've tried to blame the neighbors but it definitely sounds as it is coming from our home, our kitchen or the living room. As sudden as the noises come - as sudden they are gone.
There has been several times when I thought it was my husband who went through the home and opened a door, or even got into bed to sleep. Only when I turn around - no one there. I mean I have really felt the weight of a man coming to bed, yet my husband was downstairs looking at the television. (should perhaps add that is all that happens. Like a person that goes to bed to sleep, nothing else). I have asked my husband about it later - did he come to bed and later got up? I have again and again tried to tell myself I have imagined it. I have seen the kind of dark fog come together in the middle of the night when I woke up and just felt a presence. I stared right at it standing close to the bed. Then it just vanished again. Again and again I would try to blame the lighting etc. And just forget about it. A lot of things has happened over the years. It is perhaps the "classic" things - electricity get fooled with etc. I always want to check if it is a logical reason behind it. I really want it to rather be that than it for it to be a ghost.
When my daughter was getting old enough to speak she said to us that she would see a man, but his feet did not touch the ground. She always said he was "up-up". She said it happened mostly at night. We did not want her frighten so we let her sleep with us. We thought perhaps she made it up because she was just frighten to sleep alone. My husband has tried to spend the night in her room alone to see if he can see shadows etc that might fool her to think it is the ghost. My husband has heard clear steps (sound as if a man is walking, not a woman) only to find no one there. We have both seen door handle being pushed down as if someone is trying to open it and get in - but again, no one on the other side of the door (and the door handle was not broke or loose and could go down by itself).
One day a friend told me that she had for a long time seen something standing close to me, or being drawn to me at times that was of a dark fog thing, and it was as if it was in the back of the eye. She told me straight out that "it's a man". Said she had not seen nor felt this before in her life.
I have felt a particular smell that I can not place to belong to anyone of those I have loved and lost. I will get back to the smell later on. It comes and goes. I can't place it to any smell I have felt in this life.
Under past life regression meditation I experienced being "Laura", A Mormon girl living in a marriage with a man that had survived WW1.
We loved one another but it was from the start more of a team work, he needed help on his ranch, and that I was younger, still just in my upper teens when we were married and he was I think somewhere in his upper 20s. This was before the war. It is possible that he had had a wife that had passed away before.
During the war he broke up with me because he was angry that I was working as a nurse when he ordered me back home.
I think I was just waiting for my husband to divorce me - because it was as if I had no power over this; that I could not divorce him. And after all he had been the one to walk out of me, just because I stood my ground. I felt the heartbreak.
During the split I became close to another soldier and things developed into a romance. The soldier died in battle.
Only my husband did not divorce me. The husband returned in my life, now as injured from the war and sent home. Think we tried to start from scratch again only the past had changed us in different ways.
Then came the moment when my husband found a letter the soldier had written me from before that I had saved and we got into a fight. We were screaming at one another and my voice nearly broke down as I felt desperate - trying to tell him that it was because he had left me, that he did not care for me no more. That I would not have done what I did when I did otherwise. The last thing I wanted to do was to hurt him. At the time we were unhappy as it was, having lost a young boy who was only a few years of age. My husband had physical pain and would use alcohol and some type of drug to cope. During the fight porcelain got broken as it hit the floor, but it wasn't thrown. It was a pile of plates and as we fought his body got in touch with them over at a furniture and they fell over.
At some stage during the fight, just before everything erupted my husband asked me questions about the soldier that he demanded yes or no to. He made it clear to me he would not tolerate a lie. Through my tears I could hardly see him. He had one of my arms trapped with a firm grip by his hand. At some point when I said "yes" to a question he forced me to a wall and held his hand - turned into a fist - close to my face as he was "speaking" to me. I think at that stage that the husband got an answer that I had been physically close to the soldier in a way that only a wife should have been with her husband. I suppose I was not myself either because I suddenly grabbed his fist and bite it - real hard - then I tried to escape but he got hold of me and forced me out of the house to the stall where he quickly succeeded with a rope around my wrists so I got trapped to the wall. He then left. I can't put words what it was like to be trapped like that. Think he had told me on our way out there as I fought and screamed and cried and begged all the way, that he snarled something about that a horse bite so I should be with the horses. It was definitely a way to humiliate me, to defeat me, to show me who was the boss. He had a horse whip and I was afraid he was going to use it on my back, he would use it before on a horse that I had tried to protect. At some point he returned. By now he seemed to have calmed down. He rest his head on one of my arms as he spoke to me. He got me free from the rope.
Then I remember seeing bruises on my legs and leaving into the night without waking up the man who was sleeping in our home whom I think was my husband.
I have had a horrid image of a man being hanged outside our ranch, by a tree, in day light, as I came closer with a carriage that another man was driving. I think the man who was hung was the husband but I can't be 100% sure. I felt completely devastated by the sight. (I don't know if it was suicide or if someone else had done it to him. The husband was a bit complicated, I think he had his enemies. Also I was a Mormon and perhaps he was too. From my understanding they were not always accepted. Also I have the feeling the husband could very well have come from a stormy past where he had done something illegal. We lived isolated out on the ranch).
I suppose I would want your opinion if the so called ghost could be the husband? I know it is a crazy question - but please say something? I'm not sure what to make of this myself. What makes me think that the "ghost" and the husband could be one of the same is because of the same smell they both had connected to them. It is only most recent that I started to connect the two.
One loose theory I had from before is that it was perhaps a previous owner that visited his home and so I just let him be and ignored the presence. Also because I am a chicken
when it comes to this. Even though the "ghost" can be quite physical and make sounds we have never been pushed. Only without thinking about it one is moving to the side when one feels as he is walking past you - this because it feels like a real person, a man who take his place so to speak when he moves. A lot of times I have thought it was my current husband just because I looked to the side or was focused on something else.
I honestly don't think any of my loved ones on the other side would ever frighten my daughter at night; they were real careful with children in life. My daughter has a lot of times told me that she hates that she is "more sensitive" than her friends. She is an intelligent girl according to teachers. I don't think she would make up the man who is "up-up" by her own free will at least. We have never talked about "the ghost" around her so she could not have picked it up from there. I am angry with the "ghost" for having frighten her this way. Then again one time when the sounds were overwhelming I was desperate at it to stop and called out "Please, make it stop" and immediately it did - at the time it was electric devices acting all funny and I had tried anything else up til then (including unplugging).
I understand if this thread gets removed because it is one of the rules of not writing about ghosts but it would be interesting to know if past life soulmates can be ghosts visiting you in this current life? And if that is the case - what to do about it?
Has anything like this happened to anyone else?
