Your favorite memories

I think we all have favorite memories of certain lifetimes - things that make us smile and giggle - and bring us joy within the experience. We tend to hear a lot of the deeper, more wounding moments on the forum - but in my experience, my memories have also shown me great love and joy - and sheer delight in the smaller things...like playing in a river catching frogs, or listening to my mother play the violin while I sat in front of the fire with my kittens in my lap - or remembering the sunset over the vineyard in Italy while I sat talking with my family.

I'd love to hear some of your stories. What are some of your favorite memories - and why?

Your Favorite Memories

Mine was my past life before this one. I dreamed this one. I was a man in the I believe 50's. I sew myself in the mirror and oh my god I look just like Gomez Addams from The Addams Family. LOLOLOLOL. I had jet black hair, black suit, and my eyes from that life still look the same in this life. Also, I had a sense of humor in that life. I was making jokes about my tie in the mirror in that life and guess what?? I still have my sense of humor in this life. LOL. Then in that PL memory I hear this old grummpy lady calling my name. I think she was my mother but I can still hear her loud and clear calling my name. My name was Charles. She kept yelling my name. "CHARLES CHARLES". I remember thinking, "Geeze woman shout up". LOL. :D I'd have to say that's my favorite PL memory.

 That is a funny memory country angel. LOL I enjoy reading about the little, humorous, mundane kind of memories that really validate for me that this is truly real.

My favorite memories are of being in London long ago. There were cobblestone alleys and roads and big stone buldings, maybe brick. Very dark and night and foggy. A few lamplights but they weren't lamps. Lanterns? Anyhow I was a young girl and my father owned a tailor shop. I remember walking down an alley late at night and going in the back door. Don't know why I was doing that. Name of Sarah or Elizabeth or possibly both, Sarah Elizabeth, used to come to me but I've always doubted it and thought I just made it up. I'm not sure now.

Even when I was little, I told my mom that I wanted to go "back to London" and she'd just kind of look at me odd. To this day when I see photos of old stone bridges, fog, etc. I long so badly to go back there.

Hi There!

My most peaceful memory is of a Japanese life time. I see myself as an older woman wearing a very traditional kimono dress. I am kneeling in a garden that I take care of and love. Very serene...I garden in this lifetime and I use that image to help me know how to take care of my garden now. It's like that image gives me the confidence that I created a beautiful space before and can do it again. Wierd...huh!

Believe it or not, I actually have a pleasant memory from mine...I was outside in a very bright place with a group of African Americans singing Gospel music. I was a child, being held or carried by someone. I don't recall which song. Like so many others, this recollection is visual, emotional and tactile. My PL apparently had these perceptual strengths while today I am VERY auditory and linguistic. Interestingly, these strengths correspond to what educational researchers are discovering about general differences in the genders' learning styles.

I actually have thought it was the in-between, since singing Gospel music is stereotypically what one does in Heaven. Then I learned that the enslaved African Americans often worshipped outside the plantation churches as they were segregated and not allowed inside.

Parties!!!

My favorite memory is dancing with a lot of people in Ireland or England. The music came from a few of violins and everyone was so happy and laughing, and moving with agility around the room.

This memory comes to me every time I see dark wooden tables and chairs in a restaurant o bar. When it happens, I use to close my eyes and have the happiest images in my mind. And the feeling of fulfilling in my heart make me smile again.

My favorite memory was a late night walk with my wife up a hill to the sight of a threshing machine. We had used the machine that day. But now everyone was gone. The horses put away and fed and all chores complete. We sat in the straw pile and watched an approaching thunderstorm on the north horizon. It was very hot and humid, but with a slight breeze. I can remember the sounds and smells. We had a wonderfully passionate evening under the stars, with the rumble of distant thunder and the occasional flash of lightning. I know that is the reason I love storms now. The time period was somewhere around 1895 or so, we were still young.

I find my favourite memories are dependent on how I perceive things in my now. Quiet happy times with family seems to be my favourite memories. But the exact experience has changed over the time of doing regression therapy work.

. Up until just recently favourite memories were of two simple family lives . One as a husband in southern sunny France , the other as a wife in a small home town in 1400s England where things were simple and life went smoothly . No hastles with family and I had a great social life. BUt I have since changed and have a different favourite.

I have now gone through healings and am not directed to being with the same people. I met the people from France and England earlier in this life and have gone onto other dreams of connections and expectations.

Now since releasing fears built up after some past life traumas , I am returning to the fond memoreis for the life in 1918-1929 as a young girl with a Jewish family . I am remembering with fondness the simple happy gatherings of our Jewish family .

An interesting excercise..

New here-Think I was perhaps Tatiana Romanov, a favourite memory from then would be trying to play piano with a kitten running across the keys. :o kind of silly.

Not new here, but here's one of my favourite memories. I am not at all sure of the time period or exactly where, but probably the UK where I live now. I am a young woman in a long dress. I cannot see myself, so I don't know what I look like, but I have very long hair which falls forward at times as I play with my child. We are in a meadow and there is haymaking going on. My child is a boy of about two and he is just beginning to lose that baby look. His little face is both masculine and very cute. He is a healthy, sturdy child with skin browned by the sun. He is wearing a strange sort of garment which is dress-like and has a wide collar over the shoulders. It is of a natural, creamy colour and clearly home made. I adore him and feel proud of his health and good looks. I feel that no other woman has a child equal to him. At one point we lie on a grassy bank at the edge of the field and I stroke his hair and tickle him. A older man who I feel is my father or uncle, comes up the field leading a big, old shire type horse and I help lead it out of the field with my child running about beside me. At one point, he lifts his dress like garment to pee and I smile at his cute little bare bottom. As we proceed down a country lane with wild flowers growing everywhere and birds singing, I can smell honeysuckle in the hedgerows. It has been a beautiful day filled with hard work and I am pleasantly tired and a bit hungry. I feel superbly happy; everything is right with the world and I am completely contented.

Angelcat :)

What a beautiful memory, Angelcat! I could just picture what it must have been like. I have boys so I know what it's like to be so proud of them. I wonder if you could find images of a dress-like garment like that or if it was just a pattern that you made and perhaps wasn't common.

I have memories of a beautiful woman (who at the time I remembered this, I assumed was my wife) brushing out my long hair. This was kind of a ritual with us, we would gossip about the "high society" mucky-mucks and exchange witicisms, and I just loved it, it was a very sensual and relaxing experience. I think the setting was a vanity/dressing table, very rich and expensive looking, white with guilt edges, you know, 18th/17th century looking stuff. I realize now that this could well be a memory from Paris, and the lady may well have been one of John Paul Jones's girlfriends. One thing that John Paul Jones and I have in common is a lot of hair!

I haven't ever found a picture of a garment exactly like it. The older man with the horse was wearing a farmer's smock very much like this one:View attachment 556My child's garment was not smocked and had a short opening at the front tied with a bow made of the same fabric and a broad collar with rounded edges. You may be right in thinking that it was something of my own design. It was certainly practical - no pants to get wet or dirty!I have often wondered if it was that life in which I learned to smock because back when if was about fourteen, I was the only girl in my class at school who could smock perfectly after being shown how to do it once. Thank You Bill

I remember attending the Oscars in 1943 -Greer Garson won Best Actress for Mrs Miniver - I was standing in a 'recieving line'. And clearly recall Miss Garson saying to me "Thank you Bill, you can always shoot my best angles" - This memory has led me to believe I was a cameraman or photographer who worked on this movie....I also clearly remember how beautiful Miss Garson was and the smell of perfume when she hugged me....

I always think of Greer Garson as "Miss Garson" suggesting she was my superior and someone whom I deferred respect too...

I also think 'Bill' had a crush on her...

That's a cool memory Philip, thanks for sharing and welcome to the forum :)

Obviously you've seen Mrs Miniver, does it ever trigger any feelings or emotions for you whenever you see it? Have you found out anymore about that past life?

Chris

Have seen Mrs Miniver and other Greer Garson movies- so many of the cast are familiar - and I remember crying when I heard Greer Garson had died...

Watching Mrs Miniver, I often think how much fun we had on set....The stars so unprentious and Misss Garson stopping wrk every day at 4.00 for her afternoon tea, regardless of what was happening..

I struggle to type or say Greer Garson - she was Miss Garson to me and would never have presumed to call her Greer....I do believe we wrked togeher on other movies...The Oscar memory suggests we knew each other well.

Also I remember how nice Dame May Whitty was - so different to Lady Belding her character....

To be quite honest, I'm not interested in moving back, and I'm uncomfortable moving forward. I guess this lifetime was the most fun, in spite of how difficult it's been. However, if I really was a pilot, two lives ago, I probably enjoyed flying (not in combat). However, I would bet that there wasn't enough time between the stress of training and the first (and last) combat flight.

Hi, Philip! If you're looking for verification of a past life, you've got some wonderful clues! I'm sure you know Mrs. Miniver was directed by a "William Wyler" ... have you ever checked the credits to see if any of the cameramen were named William?

I would have to say that all of my favorite memories fall into either of two categories: working on the Cape Horn ships or my first wife.

Some might be surprised that I didn't list my time in the U-Boats during the war (after all that was the only time I actually had a command) - but as other 'war reincarnees' know, war wears you down. But, I have to have my 'war mentality' - being a U-Boat commander - to see me through this experience. In fact, that's the only thing, in addition to these memories that are uplifting, that's kept me going for so long.

I have one memory from my Victorian life which I rather like. It must have been in the later years of my life. My granddaughter is standing near a widow in my home (I believe) and the light is flooding in around her. She's wearing a cream colored or white dress with a big hat. It's very simple, but I like it. :)

Even though I lived in a very dark time but I do have some. Luckily I was holding the camera and it's still on Youtube. :3 I can enjoy those memories there, I'm very lucky I was holding the camera as it looks as though its played from my point of view. And there's sound in my head although there's no sound there. All the joy and laughter can be heard in my head. It once made me cry, maybe its cause I was playing 'As if we never said Goodbye' at the same time.....

I can remember seeing my hands writing with a quill pen and felt such an intense sense of strength, power and positive resolve that what I was doing would actually make a difference. Cannot see the writing, nor what I looked like, but the paper, pen and writing were merely the tools wielded to disseminate the "truth" I was providing for all. A wonderful feeling of anticipation and happiness. It always passes very quickly...in a flash, both the vision and the emotion.

On another occasion I was bantering back and forth with some relatives and friends in a very nice, dark wood-panelled "salon". It was a happy, funny, care-free and exciting time and as we walked through a door to go outside I glanced to my right through a door going into a hallway and there was a mirror against the far wall of that hallway. What I saw was a relatively tall, thin young man with white slacks and striped jacket with a straw boater in his hand...straight light brown hair slicked down across his head and a look of laughter in his eyes. While the eyes were mine, the rest was a surprise and at that moment I returned to where I was as this vision took place...in my bed, laying on my right side and looking at my bedside clock as it shown 3:33 am.

My favorite memories are from several different lifetimes...Memories of my family, my Native American wife, my 8 year old son and playing lively Irish jigs and reels in a pub raising everyone's spirits. But even memories of carrying a broad blade sword, knowing how to use it, and the safety and confidence that brought me walking through medieval streets, riding across moors and many other common everyday simple things of older time periods I enjoy remembering.

I have a few, but I will post one from a "normal" period in my last past life. In fact it is my newest post in my connection thread. Of me driving down the road and the woman I love is next to me, and can feel the love between the both of us.
